The Witcher Performance

hey guys, has anyone played the game with older systems ?

re - 6800GT\6600GT\ single cpu core and 1 gb of ram.
is it heavier game than hl2 ep2 for example ?

 

i saw the game on my cousin's PC(on 7600GT gpu) and it's barely playable so i imagine the game runs worse on your system, or it has huge drops of framerate like i have ...

Yep it seems like high end machine is needed. Even i have some problems runing it on high / ultra high.

 

No. This game needs crap PC.
Friend is playing on FX5900XT 1GIG Ram Athlon 2800+. Games wrok smoothly on low.

 

i don't think that the man wanted to play on low.....

 

yep crysis also works great on low, like every other game.

 

I was really dissapointed with the game/performance, i get some bad fps at times.

 

Runs fine for me? It really doesn't need anything above 25 fps (Getting about 20-25fps 1280x1024/960 4x AA forced in CP 16AF all details highest)

Damn I went ahead and bought this game and apparently there are a lot technical issues with it.
I'm stuck at the beginning of the game where i'm supposed to initiate my first dialog. After the fight scene, an NPC asks me "How do you feel?" but there is no option appears to pick from. No mouse cursor, no key response nothing! The game just sits there.
Here's the SS I took so you can see it yourselves. Am I doing something wrong? I tried a different mouse with no luck.

OS: Windows XP-SP2* 32bit, all drivers are up-to-date. I'm having absolutely zero problems with all the other games I'm currently playing (CoH-OP, Crysis Demo, Portal, TF2, HL2-EP2, STALKER etc, etc).

 

Make sure you have downloaded the latest patch 1.1a (I think)

You're not doing anything wrong it does look like you have run into some kind of a weird scripting bug.

 

The release-day-patch is a must have! the retail version is bugged.

 

Yep I already did but no luck. So, what's supposed to be there? Different dialog options suppose to appear of another video cut scene?

there's no other video cut scene,...you should really try to install a fresh copy of the game and right after that apply the patch, and start the game all over again...


for Mr.Bigtime: the game is not a simple hack&slash,...you have to know what you are doing when you upgrade yourself, great storyline, and it's really long....i played for about 6 hours and i manage to resolve very few quests

you can not compare it to oblivion(it's one of kind, unique), it's has another type of gameplay(much more realistic&better) but that's just my opinion.

 

It's nothing like Oblivion.

Its more like NWN with a more interactive combat system and a deeper plot but less freeform roaming.

It's probably my 3rd favourite game this year. And I'm not usually a fan of these types of games.

 

yep you must reinstall the game then aply patch, then play it again all over, it says so in patch realase notes. Totaly diffrent very interesting ots mode and building up characther mode.

 

i agree with you,....for me it's the second best game after bioshock(not considering COD4 , Gears Of War and so on),...and the more i play the more i like it, the story will blow you away...
