UT3 has run much worse in Vista for me as well, since the demo was released. I don't know what the problem is. Maybe I need to update my mobo chipset drivers or something.

I see that someone complain the driver 169.xx can't work as well as 163.xx in many game.

Is there some 7900gs's user test this driver? What's the result?

These drivers suck! they better release a decent update..

still stuttering movies in media center and FMV video's in games.

To all the people with problems. I think your problem lies elsewhere. All my friends that run 169.01 or 02, see nothing but IQ and FPS improvements.

I would check for Motherboard Chipset updates, BIOS updates, windows updates... etc....

It could even be a general hardware compatability problem.

PLZ use a driver cleaner under safe mode!!!

Uninstall Nvidia drivers first. Delete the Driver Folder in the NVIDIA Folder.

Boot into Safe mode Run Guru3d's driver sweeper.

Boot into windows and install new driver.

Also intall the Direct X November update. They update these for a reason. Some games require new added/optimized features.

Maybe even try to clean out your motherboard chipset drivers and install the latest versions as well.

I Posted the exact same problem in the crysis thread, i think its when you force AF through the NVidia CP, i aint sure how you can enable it any other way, maybe its somehwere in the config files.

Do you have SLI enabled in nVidia's Global profile? If so, set to Single-GPU and try Media Center again.

These drivers gave me the lovely "display driver stopped responding" error again. So they're a no-go for me.
Plus I've lost a lot of resolutions too.

I think what 8800's/2900xt etc show is this.

    They are brilliant dx9 cards.

Remember 6800gt,ultra(oops i still have one) dx9 and faster then rad9800xt. Not quite as fast as x800 in sm2, but atleast its got sm3.

Then came 7 series, quite abit faster then 6 series, now its 8 series.

So they are great dx9 cards, but maybe as they are the first dx10 cards, they are kinda of alittle slow for dx10 gaming, and i don't think this will improve much, Even with massive driver updates. Although lowering the rez will help very much, Alot of ppl seem to think with a gts/gtx they are going to be playing crysis 1920x1280 full up. Its just not going to happen ever with the 1 card.

Considering the massive jump, that crysis has shown full up, ppl are now wondering wtf is going on. Your gonna have to wait for the next gen of cards to enjoy dx10 properly.

Even the creator of dx, stated that vista and dx10 are very poor.

    Or

    Quad core
    4gb ram
    8800ultra sli.

    Not worth the money imo.

    Something I noticed with 169.01 & 169.02.

My 8800GTX default clocks are 576/1350/900 (core/shaders/memory) but with both these new drivers they are 594/1404/936.

    Anyone else getting this ?

Turn off VSync and Tripple Buffering in nvidia CP. I've read about that in the forums somewhere, it might help :)

I'm downloading the driver now. I would prefer stabilizing of frame rates versus increases since its cooler to run 28fps solid versus 40-12-30 fps.
