    @Unreal......

if you can find one of those open benchmarking platforms to put your components in it will look a lot better. Arent you afraid that something might fall???

very cool but why cut your monitors off..? kinda defeats the purpose.. why not just get a big monitor?

a c2d 4300 and a 8800gtx can pump out 3 screens with an average of about 22"? Wow, what fps do u get on ur games?

FPS doesn't necessarily dictate the game being smooth or not contrary to what people might think...there are plenty of games that are very smooth at 30FPs or under... but point taken ..A 8800GTX will sweat its ass off at those resolutions

If by big monitor you mean a 1080p LCD TV, then the reason is that this setup is actually used mainly for my job, and I need all the desktop space I can get.

Also by having 3 monitors I can more effectively manage the application windows.

Last but not least, most of my gaming is mostly done on the 30" Dell, as a single 8800GTX barely keeps up @ 2560x1600.

Only older games like GTR2 can I use the 3 monitors with SoftTH. I get about 40 FPS with some of the eye candy turned down.

s4-squalo, the only game I play with the 3 monitors is GTR2 because the newer games makes my gtx really swet at hi res.

With gtr2 I usually play at 40fps @ 4960x1600, with setting 1/2 in high and 1/2 in very high.

I used to have 2 7600GTs before and that REALLY made is hard to play at @25x16. I usually would bring it down to 16x10.

I did a benchmark of FEAR before and after my upgrade to the gtx.

Here are the fps, with Vista32 3DMark06 (default) and FEAR (max settings a@ 2560x1600) Both with OCing and then stock.

    Code:
    7SLI|8GTX|CPU |GPU |3DMark06 |FEARFPS(Min,Avg,Max)Dist(<25, >25<40,>40)
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
     x | | 3.1|727/866 | 7071 | FPS(4, 8, 59), FPS % Dist (81, 7, 12)
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
        | x | 3.1|625/1000| 11364 | FPS(26,42,60), FPS % Dist(0, 52, 48)
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
     x | | 1.8|650/800 | 5857 | FPS(3, 6, 49), FPS % Dist (98, 2, 0)
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
        | x | 1.8|576/900 | 7689 | FPS(23,39,60), FPS % Dist(9, 39, 42)
As you can see with both the e4300 and gtx OCed FEAR gets a very playable 42fps avg with max settings and v-sync on.

Now World in Conflict is a diff story, I play that at 1600x1080.
