Core and shader clocks change some seconds after i exit from a 3D application (because 2D level is activated), but RAM no!

This is what i cannot understand.

    @Unwinder

I just registered just for telling you how goddamn good u are. Riva tuner is tah ****, superb pease of software. I was angry for a little wile cuz 203 wouldn't install on Vista Ultimate x64 version (unsigned driver ****) but now i just installed 204 and saw that i couldn't overclock anymore wtf!? so i SEARCHED the forum as i´ve seen u tell ppl over and over again ;) and what do i find? yes with a simple adjustment ShaderClockRatio -1 and am back to my old OC´s 620/900 with 8800GTS 320MB ^^ again u rule dude.:bounce:

The ForceWare's 2D/3D clock control is unified for all families, it doesn't make any difference if your card supports 2D/3D separation for both memory and core (e.g. 5800U) or core only (e.g. 6800U). And and change is performance level parameters (clocks) always gets applied immediately only when performance level you're changing is active. It means that you won't see immediate change in memory clock (even if it is unified for 2D/3D) when changing 2D memory clock (which is actually linked with 3D in your case) when you're in 3D mode and vice versa.

Working working ok with regards to my 2900XT but for some reason CPU tempreture monitoring no longer functions for my Opteron 170. Both core 0 and core 1 temps are checked and in the graph display but neither show any actual numbers.

EDIT: Never mind its me being retarded, forgot to actually install the correct plugin.. All is A OK.

I have low level fan control and hardware monitoring enabled and everything works fine except I have stuttering in games every one second or so. With hardware monitoring disabled games run smooth. Is this normal?

    Hi Unwinder,

there seems to be some problem with 8800GTS, Forceware 163.67 and Vista x64. I tried the overclocking utility and the shaderclock ratio, and by looking at Graphics subsystem diagnostic report all seems working fine. However, either Rivatuner hardware monitor and Nvidia monitor reports clock frequencies are not being changed, and benchmark tests confirm this.

    Further infos:

    - I change clock for all three domains (standard 2D, low power 3D, performance 3D),
    - I permanently disabled driver signing via BCD (bcdedit -set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS )

    best regards,

    Blade9722

Getting the same problem in vista 64 also on my 2900xt and cat7.9.

Fan settings just reset to defaults when you click on apply.

Well done unwinder, another top releases.

Just a question, I was of course beta testing DXOverrider 1.5. Are there any specific changes to the version you sent me and the final release?

Haven't downloaded 2.04 yet, but I find it highly ironic NVIDIA decided to release the 163.69 Forceware drivers today. Huge updates: Improved SLI in both Vista and XP, improved Bioshock+Crysis+HellgateLondon+WorldinConflict+QuakeWars, Vista post-processing for VC1 + H.264, and added PureVideo decoding to XP.

Hopefully all goes well with the new Forceware and the new RivaTuner ^__^

this doesn't make any sense...i can't overclock anything...wtf...i have riva tuner 2.04, and tried both 163.67 & 163.69...it just reverts back to defaults when i click apply and ok...

    need some guidance, thx!

Yeah, I'm having the same problem. The fan control still works, but I can no longer overclock just like exzeth said.

Yes. The alpha version you've got lack this features:

    - Improved race condition preventing algorithm in the hooking system. New algorithm improves compatibility with multithreaded rendering engines (e.g. Bioshock) calling frame presentation routine concurrently from different threads.
