Yep, I can buy all of my hardware for at least 40% less than what you have to spend with your ridiculous taxes over there. Oh darn, I wish I didn't live here... Give me a break.

And on that note, I'm done with this thread. It's gotten to be utterly pointless. Arguing with newbs gives me heartburn.

Can we all please give Classic Satch a break here? He has opinions, he's entitled to them. Arguing is fine and makes for good a debate, but if some of you can't argue without resorting to childish banter, then don't speak at all.

Let's all be mature and have an adult, civilised discussion....please.

These drivers suck on xp; lock ups in moh airborne, slower performance.
    163.44's are king for now!

I'm just going to chime in & say these seem pretty good so far. I watched my son play MOH:AA last nite at 1440x900 on our 8600 GTS & it played perfectly smooth. I'm going to load Bioshock tonight & see how it plays. Quake Wars demo ran well at these same settings too.

Does anyone can't overclock with 163.67? Using Coolbit mine was able to overclock on 163.44 (600/970MHz) but on 163.67 it just fail from the get-go, even the supposedly conservative detect optimal range function failed and have to restart.

Now I gotta revert back to 163.44.

    Any ideas?

Rising to it, and at your age too. ;-)

It is quite short sighted of you to conclude that you're conversing with 'newbs' simply because that's what the forum tag displays. And please don't try to insinuate that the post content is behind your statement - some well structured arguments have been presented to you.

To some others - I apologize for being such a grammar *****. I guess I need to ease up on that, it's not like I can't understand what you're saying.

With that said, back on topic.

They're great drivers; clearly nVidia is heading in the right direction (finally).

not having any problems with overclocking.. however, I am overclocking via BIOS.. I mean, my 7800GTX is clocked at 470/1300 atm..

this is still a beta driver however.. so, stuff like overclocking might mess up the driver..

Great drivers for BF2142 and FSX, and i can overclock without problems .. like with any other drivers. (648/1000 atm)

I use RT 2.03 for overclock

I've not use Rivatuner for some time now, since drivers get updated much faster than Rivatuner can catch up, so I use Coolbit instead. Would that explains where I got problem?

I am using the 162.18...tried the later drivers, most of them the REFRESH-RATES-OVERRIDES aren't working ??

Using the old panel and nHancer to make my settings, still hate the new panel ;)
I think nhancer is one of the best  ...and RIVA TUNER ofcourse !!

Back to the 162.18 and its working fine again !!

    hansje.

So forget about Cooolbit, you said? But I remember that Rivatuner refuse to work if the driver is newer than it supported.

It doesn't refuse to work; it just tells you it's not recommended as they can't guarantee there'll be no issues. Although there rarely will be.

you should fill in your specs dude. as far as these drivers go, they work great for me on all my source based games.

They have changed the way overclocking works for the 8800 in these drivers. The reason you can't overclock as much as before is because the shader clock doesn't increase automatically anymore (and the cards can't handle the ROP and the shader clock being to asynchronous) and there are no tools out there yet that can increase it separately. Rivatuner will have it in an upcoming version.
