next week XD probably a 8800gts 640 mb, pay it 120€ XD or a gtx but don't know the price, probably around 200 lol i was tempted to buy a 22" lcd but my father will not be able to carry it on plane. btw if you are shocked by the prices---> i got connections in china i'm really happy!!!! crysis everything maxxxxxxxxxxed in dx9 and will try dx10 just for fun XD
i know XD china rulesss it seems every computer hardware costs less than half. at least compared to prices here lol @FlawleZ i'm happy with the x1950xt but when they told me that i could get a 8800 for 120€ i could not resist XD
I would hardly consider going from a 1950xt to a 8800 a huge upgrade. Am I wrong? And if he thinks hes gonna play Crysis maxed with an 8800 and an athlon 4200, he's got another thing comin..
From a 1950 to a 8800 i would say is a rather large upgrade! I did the opposite, from a 7900 to a 2900 and i was pretty astounded!
i'll play it in dx9. (hate vista) anyway it is a really big upgrade. and when i'll go in china myself (november or january) i'll buy a whole new config XD like c2quad q6800 extreme 4gb ram ecc... and if 9800 series will be out, i'll buy it XD edit: maybe i'll install vista on another partition, i just read an interview with cevat yerli saying tha 8800gts will run crysis maxed at 1280 res with no problem (my monitor is max res 1280*1024 lol )
Dude, you make me really jealous! Are you saying hardware prices in China are always half the prices in, let's say, the US? Or is it simply because of your "connections"? What's your connection anyway? I live in Hong Kong. There is no sales tax, yet. But prices are as similiar to US's. If things are really cheap in China, I may think about a walkaway to the Mainland and go shopping!!
my "connection" is a friend of my father he told me that where he willgo to buy my vga there is a whole road filled with computer shops, hardware storages ecc... he told me that there they are selling 8800 gts 640 mb for 120€ (so maybe i'll buy a gtx :\ ) and you have to speak alot with the seller to get a good price that' why he will go with my father and he will not let my father go alone XD he also told me that he paid his core 2 quad 140€, and he asked me if i wanted a 22" lcd monitor for 170€ :| considering that nvidia ati intel and many other hardware are made in china prices seems pretty normal XD
I'll ask around (in local forums). Maybe it is not a good idea to bargain in China. Some very unpleasant things can happen if you piss them off. I don't mean to offend the whole race or what but some people can be very emotional when it comes to money there.
well i think that's why my fathe's chinese friend will go with my father to buy there. he has experience, he buys always there XD
Do you have a source for that, if you do i'm just going to admit that i love you. The 8800GTS is a great card. Worth every penny, and i payed much more than you are going to pay.
personally, after getting burned by quite a few pieces of hardware i bought in china, I decided I alway pay retail price. The warranty and RMA rights i get with a known store or online retailer are simply worth the money. I got burned so far with chinese merchandise on : a camera mp3 player dvd recorder sound card All were bought in stores, respectable ones. My friend works in a software company that does alot of support to chinese clients, and he flies there like 3 times a year, and even he is tired of cheap prices and quite often shoddy warranties ( or none ). It's a good bargain, but be aware you might get burned by bad hardware or shoddy salesmen.
http://www.crysis-online.com/forum/index.php?topic=8326.0 here you go @smnoamls don't worry i really trust my fathers friend he will surely buy it from someone he knows(he said he continuously buys new hardware for work) and test it before giving it to me. he is really a trustworthy person
guys what do you think about this? http://www.overclockers-store.it/description.asp?item=681 i'll replace the stock thermaltake tidewater waterblock with this one if it is good XD
Great price for the 8800 good job there. I'm not a big fan of Thermaltake Water cooling. They have a habit of poor performance. I would look at Swiftech or Danger Den myself.
