Hi, I can't figure out why people keep using the "multiple fan profile" trick in order to set the fan speed according to the core temp. There's an "auto" option, managed by a rule, the "auto fan speed control rule" Unfortunatelly, i don"t know how to set this rule. Tried several things, none worked :/ I searched for tips but i found nothing Any help? Am i wrong, is that "auto" thing not working? Regards, Fred.
Try to read context help for auto rule parameters window. It is locked by default to prevent noobs ignoring documentation from editing it blindly.
yes, i did set autofanspeedcontrol to 3 But when i tried to modify the rule, it's not working. I mean i don't know how to set the " t min, t range, t operating, t low limit and t high limit"
Restart RT after setting AutoFanSpeedControl to 3, enable low-level fan control (if it is not enabled yet) and select auto fan speed control mode. After that the parameters can be edited by double clicking them.
Arg, sorry i didn't use the right words. I mean, i know how to set it, but i don't know what values i should set to.
Then I _strongly_ don't recommend you to touch it. It is hidden not just for fun and editing default rule requires detailed understanding of fan controller's specs. You can find them here: http://www.analog.com/UploadedFiles/Data_Sheets/206619465ADT7473_0.pdf
I am sure you know, but in Vista your context menus do not work until you download the winhlp from Microsoft. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...CETvjdGPCE5+/Dg5WonE/ivWOZ8Fp4IvKg==#filelist
Gamergod Documentation, "Known issues" section: ... - RivaTuner's built-in context sensitive help is not available under Vista by default. You must download and install WinHlp32 update from Microsoft website to get it working. ...
i am using xp, so everything is fine. Anyway, i started to read that document, and that's not such a terrible thing. Here are the settings i am trying for the moment : OC : 640 /944 min duty cycle 60 max duty cycle 100 t min 65 t range32 t operating 70 t low limit 50 t high limit 80
Testing is good, temp is not going higher than 74°C with settings OC: 649/982 60 100 60 32 70 50 80 Nobody ever tried to change these settings??
sam3000 I've small note to You can. Just keep in mind that these are degrees C are read from different temperature sensor comparing to one you see in RivaTuner and nTune by default. ADT uses external fan sensor as input for temperature based fan speed control. But you may switch RivaTuner to display core temperqature using this sensor by selecting ADT7473 plugin as data provider of "Core temperature" graph.
