This driver is more alpha than beta. Nothing works in the audio console, BSODs deluxe trying to install the older drivers. Stay away imo..

After 30 mins of BSODs on installing the older drivers, removing registry entires etc etc i am finally back. JV16 powertools saved me this time. I have never tried drivers this unstable before, so yes stay away from these betas.

I had the same experience. These are just bad drivers.

lawl, 0.1%! What do I win?

Installed them on SP1 and Vista promptly began spitting random sound error messages at me. Something about how I should neuter my card so it doesn't crash the machine.

I needed to format anyway so I could install this latest SP1 beta. Now I have no choice! :D

    (I'm dual-booting.)

    Yes, you lost horribly. ;)

But yeah, I was planning on formatting my Vista test installation so I could try out this latest SP1 beta. Otherwise I probably wouldn't have messed with it.

WTF! My XP installation is sh!tfvcked! I've tried dcpro, system restore, uninstalling, reinstalling old drivers and I either get BSOD or no sound? What can I do to reverse this curse on me? JV16powertools works?

This is seriously the most retarded driver ever released. I know its at your own risk but this is one stupid move by creative.

Lol, somehow there's a lot of bad experience with this driver for some people.. but I have it installed for about 30h now, used it heavily BTW, and it seems to be working, no major errors found so far.

I've underlined the word 'major', because there were some strange things at the first reboot after driver installation (had to disable driver enchantments to change sound output quality, because it wouldn't change otherwise..the error that it's not supported by my device was popping out, lmao..). But, after another reboot it's fine..at least FOR NOW. So, testing continues...I'm pretty sure that more bugs will come up. Just because it's creative, lol.

Oh yeah, I'm using them with Vista Ultimate x86.

I can't even install the regular drivers after this. Windows BSOD's no matter what I do. The only way I can get into windows is safe mode or driver clean first. :flip: Creative :flip:

I swear this is the first time I've ever had any problems with creative, I always thought people were just making crap up about their coding skills but I'm knee deep in the proof right now.

Heya . I used JV16 powertools to remove all references to creative drivers in the registry. Before that nothing worked and i thought i was screwed like you.

BTW i am on xp. Looks like vista users have less issues.

If you're a glutton for punishment, then it doesn't matter as the download has both the 32 and 64 bit drivers in it.

One thing though, the 64 bit drivers aren't signed, so you'll have to do the F8 trick to get the drivers to load.

    ah forget that then.
    No point to these drivers.

i wish creative had better driver support.
