If you want pure garbage, then go with the DFI.
I've had zero problems with Asus.

DFi are good motherboards, the overclocking enthusiasts board of choice.

If you have had a dodgy DFI board then that's your bad luck, but don't think for one second that others haven't had dodgy Asus boards.

I do agree. Had my DFI Lanparty NF4 for almost 2 1/2 years now. Still as rock solid as the day I bought it, oc'd and all. Just not in my computer anymore..

I generally have had problems with the up-to-3-year-old and newer Asus boards. My P5N-E is a suck-o-rama. Another sucky aspect of Asus boards, they all seem to produce much higher CPU and board temps than the other brands.

At one time it was my opinion, for a long time, Asus boards were the only ones to have but, since exploring MSI, GigaByte, Biostar, Abit, Intel and others, I've decided Asus is likely one of the worst boards available.

Anyway, I'm sure DFI is likely a much better board than Asus. I certainly would go straight for the DFI if both brands were set on a counter for choice.

    That's my penny and a half. :)

I've had horrible luck with Asus and zero problems with DFI. I know I will never buy an Asus anything again unless there are countless reviews raving on about how great a certain product they made is. Asus crap is usually overpriced like hell as well, like the Asus Striker which can't even overclock as much as the Gigabyte 965P-DS3. The last Asus mobo I had used cheap capacitors from taiwan and the whole thing blew out in a few months, gee thanks Asus.

My last 3 builds have been with ASUS mobo's.. and myself, have not had any real issues with them. The Crosshair is an overclockers dream, almost too many options. The Crosshair, IMO, has been the best mobo I have worked with. DFI or EVGA would probably be my next choice..

From what I've read MSI appears to be the choice brand nowadays for midrange boards.

IMHO ABIT all the way I've had two Gigabyte boards and they've been one disaster after another. My Abit AN7 was rock solid for two years.
