why has the 7800GT been unsupported for the past few forcewares. Have they abandoned support for it? :(

    Help!

Hello, need a little help here. Never had problems installing drivers, but with these, it shows the usual "detected other microsoft installation wizard in progress, press yes to minimize until you complete and continue", but when I press yes it just minimizes nvidia drivers installation and it sits there without doing anything.
I'm using Vista 32 ultimate. Anybody seeing same issue?
    Thanks

This is simple. It means your windows is searching for suitable drivers at the moment. this takes some time.. later there will be a windows pop-up asking you what to do. just click on "ask again later" and install nvidias drivers.
if there is no pop up after some minutes.. then.. err.. well.. don't know

maybe there are files of old drivers left and windows installs them because it thinks i's doing you a favor. Did you try using the driver cleaner after uninstalling them? maybe try to install the drivers in safe mode. I don't know if the automatic installer is active there.

In your taskbar you should see the little harddrive with the green light flashing.

Close this then restart the setup. I had this once, and took me ages to solve it!

I added my system data in my profile, it should be visible on the side.
I try to install them right after windows starts, and there are no strange background apps running. I also tried killing some of the processes.
I will try in safe mode.

First impressions are very good..just tested DIRT and STALKER, in both cases I've noticed a little fps increase. The most major one is for DIRT. Don't have too much games installed ATM, so that's it for now.

Oh and it seems like Aero switching is faster too (I mean the time between the confirmation of an UAC message box and switching back to desktop)

    EDIT: Using Vista Ultimate x86.

EDIT2: These drivers don't seem to have the HDR on/off option in CP
