I have recently purchased an ATI x1950 Pro Agp. With latest Catalyst drivers it works fine. But as I use Pro/engineer, I modded with softfiregl with the patchsript from other post to a FireGl 7300. Softmod is successful and I can install Firegl CP correctly. The problem is when I run Proengineer; the main window of the application is full of squares of different colour. The app works, as I can even select the part (contextual box open when I move the pointer over a feature in that window, even when I can not see the pointer inside the window). Any help appreciated. Also I would like to thank Unwinder for his excelent work developing Rivatuner. I have used this app since my fist P3 500 MHz, to softmod to quadro a Geforce4, a GForce 5950 and a GForce 6800.
Would Love to KNow Answer Too Hi, I've been considering purchasing either an X1950Pro or Xt (AGP) to turn into a FireGL, but cannot find specifics on Vendor ID & Chipset. Are they the same on the PCi-E cards as the AGP cards? If so, the mod should work, but think the FGL7300 is based upon the X1800XT, which is, of course, only PCi-E. If you find anything, wouldbe very interested in knowing. Regards, Russ
FireGL V7200 = ATI X1800XT 256Mb FireGL V7300 = ATI X1800XT 512Mb FireGL V7350 = ATI X1800XT 1Gb There are no FireGLs based on X19XX series.
I finally managed to make it work properly. I checked the option to use Quad Buffer Stereo and now it is working. I dont know what this has to be with opengl apps, but at least now i can work with Pro/engineer.
For info After a couple of weeks working with this system in real world enviroment (no bechmarking) I can tell that the performace of this modded card is worst than a moded Geforce 6800 I have before in Pro engineer. My Nvidia died by water ingestion form my watercooling setup. Both cards are AGP. Regards
Vendor ID & Chipset I was wondering if the AGP version of the cards have different device ID & therefore can be successfully modded? If so, am seriously considering HD2600XT or X1950Pro AGP cards. I reckon theres still life left in the old beasty yet. Russ
