I wish I wrote their sloguns, my first would be:

"The new iMac, a laptop you can't take with you!"

welcome to the carefully controlled world of apple... where every little detail is carefully controlled by apple... that might be good ... but than again that might be bad...

Hey now, let's not go ragging on Apple... The new iMacs are quality machines, and damn cheap compared to any laptop with similar specs. Of course the graphics aren't amazing, but the 2600 Pro is still a pretty solid chip.

One thing's for sure, ever since 2000 they've had some pretty nice aesthetics with their computers.

i like apple a lot too but i hate that they make their computers SOOO hard to upgrade... since the intel switch they went out of their way to make them quite complicated to open ... compared to their g5 counterparts

a little off topic, but are the mac pro cases made by lian li, because they have that look to them. I like the iMacs as a computer for people who don't use their computer much, but they are just a laptop on a stand really. They are definately not as fast as a similar spec true desktop.

edit - 2.8 Ghz Core 2 Duo in an iMac? That would get hot with a 120mm cooler, how does that stay at a reasonable temp in a closed box an inch thick?

Anyone who's ever used a MacBook Pro in their lap for any extended period of time knows, Apple runs their hardware hot!!! I would guess a fairly extensive series of heatpipes and a couple o' radial fans... Combine that with a primarily aluminum structure and you're looking at a fairly plausible scenario.

I clicked their link but my porn is hogging all the bandwidth and the page timed out. That was a close call.
