    Hi,

I just installed the above mentioned official MS-patches. After rebooting, ATT (1.3.6.1047) refuses to start:

    and

Before, ATT worked just fine (with the driver signing disabled and startup via scheduled tasks...).

    Any hints?

    Hi.

Not sure if I read somewhere else that these hotfixes (not sure which one) prevents disabling driver signing in x64. Have a look for the original thread in these forums - I'm sure someone mentioned it but as I use x86 I didn't really take that much notice TBH.

Well - I searched the forums and did not find anything suitable. As I wrote, it was working like a charm until I installed the patches today (FYI, these have been released by MS today as well).

Before the patches you could disable driver signing permanently:
    Code:
    bcdedit -set loadoptions \”DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS”
Now with the patches this won't work anymore and the only way to disable driver signing is to do it manually hitting F8 on every system startup.

    :cops:

Have not tried it myself, but read it at a thousand places so it must be sad and true. BTW, further on media players will refuse to work while driver signing is disabled and then you are completely trapped within Vistas DRM hell, simple salami tactics as well known from Microsoft and all the others who want to take our rights and freedom away from us. Think of internet browsers refusing to load censored websites, painful disclosure that made it into public, nasty little software like ATT that doesn't pay off, think yourself. Here we get the platform that allows us to hand over all our digital freedom to some well trusted institutions, I bet most people will do without even hesitating.

Sorry for OT, but this drives me nuts...

Yeah, I was aware of this by myself. Hopefully, there will be another workaround available in the near future (but I really debt it :-( ).

AFAIK, yes. Vista64 does not (and from now on to 100% as it seems) allow unsigned drivers to be loaded (Vista32 does).

Here are some background information on topic.

Press F8 when booting and select "Disable Forced Driver Signing" You have to do that every restart, but it will last until you restart

I know, but that is not a viable solution.

just use sleep mode as much as you can
you should rarely have to restart your computer aside from updats,drivers..etc
it seems perfectly viable unless your just very lazy...pressing a button, oh my finger!

Just seen a msg on the authors forum and hes got the signed driver now for vista x64, he just needs to implement it, so it shouldnt be too long before a new beta version is out which will work with vista x64

No! Custom made certificates are ignored by system! Why you think Microsoft made such updates? Just because they want more money!
