Recently i have built my own desktop. I have powered it up n everthing looks fine. The screen is telling me "No signal", Does it take a while for the bios to kick in? name the possiblities n ill open it up tommorow thanks
Make sure you have plugged in the graphics cards power, although are you sure you have the monitor plugged in (since if it plugged in it wont display that).
Happened to me too. Turned out the monitor was set on analogue mode, while it was connected to the DVI output.
it aint beeping so the bios aint started yet... what could it be? still communicating with the compounts or just my mobo?
mate make sure ur gfx card is pushed in fully as i had a problem with my new case and it dint lett the gtx fit correctly, basically i couldn't puss it in fully as the lip at the end of the card was to long so when i thought it was in correctly it wasn't,
make sure everything is pushed in good. and if u can reset bios go it. try plugging the moniter cables in another place haha.
Fate, you have a DOA mobo. I too have the same one and the first time i got it it was also DOA.. so i resent it in did the same installation and the 2nd one worked. ASUS SLI 32's have a extremely HIGH doa probablbility... I believe me I tried EVERYTHING to get the first one to work.. wishfull thinking had me i just hooked stuff up wrong but it was infact the MOBO itself. made me mad to see "no signal".. yeah i even tried resetting the c-mos, checking power amps/voltage/ and using just one stick of ram. but yeah, no doubt about it me and you are victims of doa
Yeah mine was also a first time build, I didn't notice it because i had a knowledgable friend help build mine but the reviews on newegg signalled it was a high chance of DOA... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...ortField=0&SummaryType=ALL&Pagesize=10&Page=2 Plus i didn't think it would happen to me but it did.. and when it does its upsetting. So what i did and what you may consider is i talked to newegg and ordered a new mobo overnight shipping (for additional $25) and they paid for my shipping label to send the old one back. So even before i was able to package and send my old one back - my new one had already arrived.... But this second one is working like a charm.. you wouldn't believe how happy i was to see the ASUS sign on my 22'' after pressing boot.
Last time this happened to me it was cause my 66GT didnt like DVI cables. I switched to my older one and it was fine... DOA mobo seems a little too severe, imo.
Trust me I dealt with this. Signs of DOA: - Dreaded "no signal" on LCD screen upon plugging everything in tightly and securely - CPU fan runs - Green light is on - No sounds from mobo speaker - Looks like it should be working - Video card fan runs - Everything plugged in correctly including hard drives dvd writers It's perplexing as it doesn't make any sense as to why it is not working. because... it should be working. I took my computer to a specialist and a guru. We eliminated any other question marks to the question becuase i swapped ALL my parts onto his computer and it worked. I swapped my e6600 my ram and my video card onto his ASUS motherboard and everything ran. Still not sure if it was my motherboard i sent it in and got a new one, I wasn't sure it was going to work but because i thought maybe I just connect stuff wrong but the 2nd time, i was a little boy on Christmas morning. Fate^, not to be mean because it isn't your fault but I gaurantee you have a DOA. samething happend to me, everything i read on this post reminds me of my situation.
