Heya guys. Lately I've been wondering if I shouldn't have better performance than I do with my gear. I've done some benchmarks, perhaps someone who knows could see if they're resonable. I have a E6700 dual core @ 2.67 Ghz (stock), a XFX 8800 GTS 640mb (also stock clocks), and 2 gig ram. I'm on Vista, with the 158.45 drivers. I get an average of 63 fps on CoH, @ 1280x1024, all settings max, DX9. I get an average of about 79 fps on the CSS stress test. I got 7797 points on 3dmark 06, and I'm ranked 118 out of 120 in the 'similar systems' category, ie. people with more or less the same hardware as me. That's bad. Anyone have any ideas how I get my performance up? Thanks
With my system @ stock on vista i think i was getting 8700 ish just did it in xp and got 9100 not good but not that bad for my system.
Cad, yea, that's what I mean. I shouldn't get 1000 points less than you. Any idea what the reason for that might be?
Well that really weird because i get 11500 3D Mark with my GTS and it was running 158.45 and Vista, CPU only @ 3GHz too
Yeah, I definately think I should get more than this. Now what could be causing it? Do CP settings matter when benchmarking? What else? Ideas?
Yeah they do; people bench with no AA or AF in the control panel, as well as texture filtering on High Performance, and no multisampling or supersampling AA.
really strange since with stock i can get almost 11k, with overclock i can get 12,5k, if u have vista down the patch it may help, and see if u have some progs running.
Darksoulpt, what patch is that? Nato, yeah, that bought me another 800 points. Thanks for pointing that out man. I've brought the cpu clock up to 3,0 Ghz from the stock 2,67. Together with nerfing the CP settings that takes me to 8843, but that's still way to low I reckon.

Ok Darksoulpt, I'll dl that and see if it makes any difference. My mobo is an EVGA 680i sli nvidia chipset, pretty decent I think. The ram is 2 * 1 gig Corsair DDR 800 mhz 6400C4, runnig at stock latencys and clock.
Oh, i just remember, go check the bios for the memory voltage, and timings had to do it manualy since my striker extreme didnt detect the stock times.
