Hi. Basically I'm getting a refund on my PS3 since I'd rather play my 360 & have a decent rig. I have an AKASA 500W PSU with these rails: Direct link to PSU info: http://www.akasa.co.uk/akasa_english/spec_page/psu/spec_ak_p050fg7_bk.htm I'm told this should be enough for the GTX, I'm also ordering another 2GB of ram so my system would be: E6300@3.3Ghz [Freezer 7] 8800GTX (Unbranded model) 4GB Corsair DDR2 5-5-5-14 1 Samsung DVD-RW Gigabyte 965P-S3 2 case fans Cheers for any wisdom on this, the GTX is very cheap just £322 new from Scan.co.uk and the 2GB of ram is £56 all together £385 with delivery.] I game at 1440x900 on my HDTV, hoping my GTX will last me a good while especially on the likes of Crysis, Bioshock & UT3.
18.0A on 12v line isnt enough to run my 8800gts never mind a GTX.It says a GTS needs 26A-28A,go google.... GTX = 30A
Oh really? I've read on other forums people with watt usage meters are only getting about 384W at peak with 8800GTX systems.
ive herd so many different story's. even one site said they ran SLI with dual 18a rails. Id say it isn't enough. but run the system and if it shuts down, locks up, brings errors or just doesnt run right. get a new psu
Just read a review of a site using a 8800GTX with my PSU and it was fine, all solved. http://www.hexus.net/content/item.php?item=8186&page=2
