its not a comedy, but strangely it was shown on the saturday mornings here.

Its a war series, great scripts and the story was incredible. It went beyond the movie and explored how it started and after the events in the movie. They made some changes, but it worked out very well. Sad part is they ran out of money before they could complete it but the sheer lenght they had already achieved deserves praise. I strongly recommend it.

Vinnie, i now can understand why its taking so long. That must be one hell of an undertaking. I like id, but any company with the balls to take on grass and water like how crytek has done deserves patience. I'm been doing water simulation on realflow, and a tiny simulation takes a terrible amount of time.

Then you should watch THIS video, if you have not seen it yet. It's a CryEngine2 tech demo and it shows the use of many of the tools for editing, etc. Towards the end it shows you how in CryEngine2 you can edit the water by simply setting some sliders and the water changes completely. It really just is amazing. There's a whole lotta other great stuff too.

Don't get me wrong, it looks good with the DX10 and all...

But Crysis will be the Far Cry of 2007. Lots of hype and DX10 marketing, but in the end it will be another silly shooter on an island.

Mercenaries, mercenaries, bunker, underground complex, evil dark secret.

And then a few months later us fickle gamers will be looking towards the next big release.

With great certainty I'll wait on the next generation of DX10 hardware.

I'll definately give a game a chance because its important to try something before you dismiss it. Thing with crysis is that it must keep the user interest by not falling into the dreaded "no man's land" most fps games are prone. Doom 3 and halo are chief victims. Hell half life 2 got it at times.

Rpgs and action adventures have the advantage of creating emotive links which propel you forward while fps's must refresh momentum or interest is lost. Painkiller had a nice pace and motivated you to keep going. FEAR was good, but my criticism was not enough payoff. I may fault HL2 on many things, but payoff will never be one of them. After nasty battles you are definitely rewarded.

If I could throw an idea for the crysis developers would be when things cool down after a battle, and if its a mountaintop view, let the user see the aliens on the move with the tripods or show simultaneous battles. It will really help involve the player that they aren't in a static world.

On thing I liked about FarCry was the fact that it seemed to come out of nowhere!!! I mean right out of left field comes a little upstart with a nice little game that no one was expecting,…..

Now, for Crysis, its hurry up and wait,…..

Are you done waiting,…? Well wait some more!!!

The playability and longevity to a game is, at least for me, online game play. Doom 3 was a really horrible game IMO though, Quake4 was better.
