Hello, i'm fairly new here (used to standby reading things i was interested in) but got this card recently and wanted some advise. I'm currently using 94.24 nvidia drivers in XP and my question is: What should be the avg FPS expected on a normal game, let's say css or wow? I'm having avg 25-28 in wow and around 40-50 in css which makes me feel like it should be a bit better. Am i mistaken? Could it be because of my psu or any pc specs? Thanks in advance.
Those are low FPS for those games. Make sure that you have just ONE set of drivers installed. Be sure to have removed all previous sets the proper way including using a good driver cleaner such as NFR. Try using the 93.71's as those have given me the best performance with my 7800GTX. Also check to make sure you're not running an excessive amount of background applications and/or have a clean OS install.
...welcome to guru3d man... In which resolution u r playing those games?? and ur psu is good enough for ur card.....:coffee2:
I'm playing @ 1024x768 in wow and 1280x1024 in css (which shouldn't stress them at all to have such low fps imo). I used to play in 93.71's and performance was about the same, i'm gonna try removing all drivers with NFR and reinstall 93.71's to check them out again. Any ideas are welcome and thanks so far :>
I remember playing on a PC with a 7800GT. I was playing Half-Life 2 on 1280x1024 with 4xAA 8xAF and the FPS was 40+ at all times ( he had AMD 3800+ CPU ). So if you don't have that, then yeah, somethimes rong. Your FPS is 40-50 in CSS. Maybe a new driver could improve performance. If you have the time, try 77.30 beta. This driver was a very good one for my 7600GT. Better then forceware 9x.xx drivers.
