    Hello,

I really want know which graphic card would be better in 3ds max 9 in D3D mode. My chooses are:
nV based: Leadtek WinFast PX7950GT Extreme - G71
    ATI based: ASUS EAX1950XT - R580

So are there any users of ATI and nV, that can give me some results from this?

    Thanks

    Test

So I have tested some cards that we have in office. Could you please someone test any Geforce 7?

    Re

Yes, these are FPS. Everything is in 1280x1024 (native LCD resolution) and in D3D mode. Without Maxtreme because it won't works in 64-bit version of 3ds max 9.

Which card is Quadro FX 4000 based on? Geforce 6 or 7?

BTW X1900GT is really good, is 3d Max optimized for ATI cards?

Quadro FX 4000 = 6800GT/Ultra AGP with 375Mhz GPU clock and 1000 memory clock.

Max is not optimized towards any card - it just happens that ATI cards kick a$$ in D3D while NVIDIA seems to inflate SpecViewPerf OpenGL scores by cheating... ;)

See the lines with the red color its strange ,may be do to the fact that i don’t have the 3dsmax4 map coz it kept asking me about missing maps
    during the test.

Can some one tell me what went wrong?

and by the way its my first post:bigsmile:

here are my results - i managed to get almost ALL missing Maps by the way (substituted one) - so i think the ersults are not influenced by this....

    Note 1:
First column Max9 D3D, second Max9 Maxtreme D3D, and third column (best results... Max 8 with Maxtreme (OGL), as you can see Maxtreme is STILL better than D3D - at least for me....

    Note 2:
To get REAL good wireframe performance in Max9 D3D ITS CRUCIAL TO DISABLE BACKFACECULLING ON THE OBJECTS. This benchmark scenes have BF enabled, so the wireframetests can be FASTER in Max9 D3D by
about factor 10 (just a guess) - this could easy be checked by loading the wireframe scenes selecting all objects and diabel BF in the properties dialog)

maxtreme is a special nvidia driver for 3DSMax - for nvidias professional
workstation cards (Quadro). Up to Maxtreme for Max 8 it worked in an enhanced OpenGL mode - hence the "(OGL)", with Max 9 they started to use Direct3D for Maxtreme too - this sucks IMHO
