158.27 on a 7950GT here, I see a couple .hlp, a bunch of .dll, one or two .bin, and a .exe file. No errors and nothing funky.

    STALKER runs much smoother.
I was able to squeeze out 650 core clock and 2118 memory with this driver.

Cards runs slightly warmer due to the higer core clock.

this driver is a :coffee2: Keeper!

Is there really a big performance gain from 600/2118 to 650/2118 ?

Since I don't run benchmarks the only way for me to tell is with a game. Current fav is stalker. Now I"ve set a a gamer hardware profile on my machine(as per black viper's site) and I ussally boot to that profile when I play doh! However I tried a mod I had just downloaded to see if the game would crash when I installed it, so I fired up stalker and started playing.
Game ran fine, and I played for about an hour. When I shut it down I realized that I had forgot to shut down aol. I was playing in my regluar hardware profile with aol running in the background and stalker was running smooth as silk. THINK THESE DRIVERS ARE KEEPERS :approval:

instaled the official 8800 drivers yesterday when my new card arrived, played 2142 today to find it at 10FPS with yellow textures, installed these, they crashed the PC, then i did it again in safe mode and all went ok.

now 2142 plays fine again :)

also play IL2 1946 and FSX, going to hang onto these for now.

How are these overall with Battlefield 2 and Final Fantasy XI Online?
I'm still trying to find a new driver that doesn't have the gamma bug for FFXI :S.

Yes you have to completly erase the old driver with Driver Cleaner Pro in safe mode and you will not get non WHQL warning.

I do full erases and when I install WHQLs I never get this warning. Especially if you had a beta driver or a modded driver before.

WHQL has nothing to do with performance or IQ but more to do with general hardware compatibility and ensuring stability.

Many times I've found non-WHQL drivers perform and look better than WHQL, so I will never let the WHQL certificate be a deciding factor in choosing which drivers to go with, esp in Nvidias case.

i think we all know now WHQL means nothing in real world terms..

if it did mean anything i wouldnt have loaded 2142 to be met with 10fps and yellow trees... (there current official WHQL drivers)

im using riva tuner 2.01 on a 7950 GT KO with the stock fan and yet its showing the fan to run at 20/30 when i set to higher in riva tuner. did i do something wrong?

EDIT:For fan control are any of the three startup vaules needed? or the NVIDIA display driver service? by default since i dont overclock or use the tray icon i disable these from being loaded.

I had the yellow issue in BF 2142 but for me it was yellow full screen explosive flashes and SOME parts of the flying crafts and when I sit in the flying crafts my display was entirely yellow!!! I then clocked down my gcards core a bit and it went away (drvers 158.22). With these drivers, 158.27 my core is up to 600 without yellow in 2142.
    Different strokes for different folks!!!:approval:
