Not sure if it is true but read this at another forum, nVidia tech support stated if the card is not fully recognised by the driver it wont install the new CP "Only old one". That was on a 6XXX series video card, might be a blessing or curse depending which way you see it.

    AGP 7800GS user here:

These 160.02 are the best drivers I've tried to date. Previously I've been using the official 93.71 drivers. I've tried a few ones inbetween, even a few modified ones, but none were as good as 93.71 until these latest ones.

Hitman Blood Money runs a bit better, in some areas alot better.

Supreme commander sees a large improvement. I have a little test area on a save game I used to compare drivers and here are the results:

    93.71 ~ 10.2fps
    160.02 ~ 11.4fps

That's roughly an 11% performance increase. My test area has a lot of decal explosion craters on the area and so there is a ton of overdraw bringing the game to it's knees. It's an unrealistic scenario (was play testing against an AI) but it provides a nice bench test.

    So yeah, definitely keeping.

The only negative I've seen so far is a bit of momentary odd screen flickering/tearing when accessing the control panel and when windows loads just as it gets past the welcome screen, but I can live with that.

just tested them with COD2 and TDU
cod2 is ok, but worse then 165.01
TDU the IQ is bad, went back to the 165.01 for sure, will wait for a 165+driver before i test some other again

It's surely better than 160.03! You'd got to downgrade it in term of the driver number! :smoke:

Anyone noticed that the display setting don't stick when changing "nView Display Settings" from TV out to a monitor display.

The resolution resets to 1024x768, the color to 24-bit, and refresh rate to 60hz. I have to reset them everytime. Its kinda of annying.

Other than this issue, these drivers work great.

Nice drivers, IQ improved. Same performance or maybe a bit higher. I wasn´t going to test them because they are destinated to Quadro GPU,s, but I could install them without any problem and my XFX 7950GX2 was recognized inmediately, working fine till now.

    Regards.

Some people say it works with SLI so thats the thing i'm gonna try :)

Now i'm working with the 94.24 Driver, also an very nice driver, but if you can get better ;)

But there is just one guestion on my freakin mind, When are they gonna make some drivers where you can both use SLI and a secondary display at the same time !?!?!?

If i want to use an xtra display i've got to disable SLI, then it works, but with SLI on, keep dreamin !

Anybody got an answer to that question ?

Btw with the 94.24 driver my 3D Mark06 score is 7751.
I will let it run with the new driver. Keep you posted :)
