Do we know if this addresses the 64bit + 4Gb RAM + SLI bug?

According to the release notes, they are fixing only 2 (two!) issues, bot SLI related. Thats all... no need to update to this driver.

    NOT FIXED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I used Drivercleaner in safe mode and everything!

Same problem as all previous drivers. When you select multi-gpu... you have to restart. When it restarts you can hear it boot into Vista, but there is no signal to the monitor like before.

Other than that these seem identical to 158.18 Vista x64, for better or worse.

Here's hoping some day Nvidia fixes this issue for us 4GB+SLI card owners.

Does SLI work if you only use 2 or 3gig of ram?

I don't know why it wouldn't. It has in all the previous drivers. The only reason SLI doesn't work is because with memory mapping turned on (which is required to handle 4GB of memory) , there is a problem adding the extra amount of VRAM the second GPU provides.

I have heard the max amount of RAM SLI will work with right now is 2.5 GB of RAM with Memory mapping turned off in BIOS.

    Can someone verify this?

one good thing I noticed with this driver is that now, it recognizes the full refresh rates for my good old 17" CRT :approval:

used to be on only 85, while the monitor supports 100.

Don't bother installing this unless you can benefit from:

    Fixed Issues–Windows Vista 32-bit
    • [SLI], International Driver Versions: NVAPI crashes when reloading
the driver in response to NvAPI_SetGpuTopologies(). [310539]
    • [SLI], International Driver Versions: The NVIDIA Control panel
    crashes when enabling SLI mode.[309105]

These are the only documented changes from 158.18 as stated in the release notes.

Yeah, but it seems a bit strange to change the version with a 0.06 (from 158.18 to 158.24) just for these two changes, there might be some undocumented ones. Dunno, will test the driver later. I have it downloaded but don't have the time required to do normal test run :smoke:
