I've got an XFX 7950GT 512mb AGP coming, no "why the hell did you do that" posts please...lol I was wondering if I will need to use new beta drivers for it or will the older drivers work for it just fine?

Let me know how that performs. I would like to see what agp still has in it for performance.

I got mine from TigerDirect.com, but Newegg.com has them also. They are also priced the same $269.99 USD.

I ordered one from Mwave.com but cancelled it out of hope that perhaps an 8600 will come out in AGP. I'm very interested in how the 7950 performs. Keep us posted.

Yeah, I've thought about that, but in my case I would need more than just a DX10 compatible card to run a DX10 game with any good image quality.

I will post on how it compares to my 7800GS, when I get in Monday.

So, I should be good with any driver over 9x.xx?

Yes, I am going benchmark it as soon as find the highest stable overclock, it shouldn't take long. By this time tomorrow I should have some results.

    7950GT AGP should be fast

i would be very interested in 7950GT AGP scores here are mine so you can compare using Orb

    new 7800GS+ GLH 20 pixel pipes 7 vertex shaders 512MB GDDR3 1.2ns
    old 7800GS+ 24 pixel pipes 8 vertex shaders 512MB GDDR3 1.4ns

These are my max usable clocks temp load 57c need better cooling to go higher

    Max core 665
    Max Mem 1570

    3dmark05 9780 athlon 3700 @ 2.7GHz
    old 7800GS+ 24/8 with athlon X2 4200 @2.8 = 9718

    3dmark06 4883 athlon 3700 @ 2.7GHz
    old 7800gs+ 24/8 with athlon X2 4200 @2.8 = 5406
