i've been trying to overclock my 3200 for about 3 months and i havent been able to get it stable at 2.4. ive tryed increasing my vcore but that dosent do anything, and heat isnt an issue.

    does anyone have any advice?

When i raise my multiplier to 9 then its not stable.

Have you tried 240x10? But it's strange to require 1.5v for 2.2Ghz anyway...

Have you set a RAM divider to keep your RAM at sensible speeds?

why did you drop your multiplier from 10 to 8.5? I thought AMDs don't even like x.5 multipliers.

    Set multiplier to 10x
    Set memory to 166
    set FSB to 240
    Set HTT to 4x

your Memory will run at 400MHz that way with your CPU at 2.4GHz.

I used that lil nifty program ^^^

PS: You don't need to touch the voltage

drop your voltage! do what praeses says. unless you're have water cooling going over 1.5v for vcore isn't safe.I had my 3200+ venice to 2.6ghz on 1.425v

i'm still tweaking my winchester 3200+. Currently got it running at:

    HTT 260 x 9 = 2.34g
166 on the memory so it is currently running at 212 i think (at work at the moment)
    1.45V on the processor.

Ran outu time last night to tinker.

Need to get a different hsf on there coz i am using the AMD one at the moment. I have a zalman 9500 thingy but i can't be bothered pullin the board outu the case to fit the backplate.

Isn't the backplate only for the intels and not AMDs?

    LOL

    Possibly

i tried mounting it yesterday and i am either missing some pieces or it's not compatable with my mb as the screws provided do not screw in the plastic thing on the mb

i did exactly what you did and it was not stable. i have no idea why.

my vcore is at default, around 1.4-1.5, and it jumps around a lot.

ok, i tried it again. i set my vcore to 1.425, multiplier to 9 so its at 2.430gigz, and it wouldnt even get to the windows loading screen, it would just restart. doesnt that mean not enough voltage?

i set my multiplier low so i can see how high my fsb can go. i have it at 270mghz so far so good. :) so hopefully i can get my cpu up that high.

try increasing it step wise until it becomes unstable then back down a bit again

everytime i get to 2.38, right before 2.4, it gets unstable.

roguesn1per are you on stock cooling?

put it on the GHz that's stable. boot into windows and run some temperature monitoring software while running prime95. check the temps. It's most probably going to be temp related...check system and CPU temps.

Dude drop your HT multiplier (NOT CPU MULTIPLIER!!)
ITs default at 5x, use 4x or 3x

Also set RAM to work at divider. E.g. on fullspeed setting it would be DDR333 or DDR266 divider, and on half-ddr mobo settings it would be 166 or 133.

Now go and have fun, you should be able to OC way further now!
