First of all I'd like to say great thread guys, a huge amount of maturity and mutual respect going on. (some more than others) Yeah, to get back on topic, I don't really expect there to be any kind of g80 core on an agp graphics card. However someone may take a risk and release like a 8600gs+ for agp, but even then I really don't see why anyone would spend money on this when they could just save a bit more for a new system. Oh and yeah, If they ever release an 8800gtx for agp, I promise to ritualistically shave my testicles, and post the video of it on youtube, cos to be honoust, it's never going to happen.
definately possible. i've seen it stated both ways. i tend to err on the safe side and just assume it's slower. getting back to the original issue of agp bottlenecking. if it's 250 each way, then pcie 8x = agp8x in bandwidth. set your pcie to 16x, benchmark. set it to 8x, benchmark. less than 1% difference in fps. still not a bottlenecking issue. -scheherazade
taking the high road - I appreciate that then anybody see the irony in that? Just goofing around, Im still POed that the 1950 AGP sucks so badly. It should blaze in my PC - its a PIII with a 300 watt powersupply and 128megs of ram.
Hi Guru Boy hEY EVERYBODY IN THE ATI FORUM REALLY MISSES YOU. TO ANSWER YOURQUESTION, YES I WOULD BUY THE NVIDIA AGP CARD, BUT FOR THE FACT THAT MY NEW X1950 512MB AGP CARD IS DOING THE JOB JUST FINE FOR ME, sorry yours didnt work out. Also , it seems that NVIDIA "has" a 7950 gt AGP (maybe a gs or something else) actually in the pipe line. , time will tell.
