hi, since there is not much pentium D talking on this forum, i perfer to call al pentium D owners to post its O/C capabilities here!

this is my pentium D 820 @ 3.5 GHZ instead of 2.8 and note that my 533 MHZ elixir ram is running @ 667mhz now!

I will when my new parts come in. My old motherboard that I had died, so I'll have to over clock it back up to 3.0ghz when my parts from newegg come in. As soon as I do, I'll post um here :)

My D805 is rock stable at 3.5Ghz (stock voltage). Simply by raising the FSB to 700MHz, an amazing little performer. :)

I've been able to reach 4GHz but the system wasn't completely stable. I should be able to fix this with some minor voltage and memory tweaking, if i'm ever in the mood to do so. :)

to bad you need a pentium D to be about 5 Ghz for it to be any good

omg nice one... i feel kinda noob now... :p but the adventage of the 805 is that the multiplier is set to 20x and the fsb is lower... wat is the temp @ full load?

u sure m8? don't think so... pentium D's are fast and reliable and cheapass

    so what else?

At stock speeds it's a slow cpu, but at 3.5+ GHz it's far from slow. Of course it doesn't stand a chance against a Core 2 Duo, but it can hold its own against the AMD X2's. The big disadvantage is that it requires a lot of power at high clock speeds.

It's only slow in games. In windows it is very fast at that speed, but I'm afraid the x2'x are quite a bit faster for gaming. Since it's mostly the same architecture as a P4 then a x2 @ 2.4 Ghz is faster than a PD @ 3.5. They aren't THAT bad though. I was exaggerating before.

I agree, the X2's are better at games, but I think you'll hardly notice the difference.

I'm not really a fan of benchmarks but if look at the benchmarks spread around the internet, you'll notice an oc'ed D805 really comes close to the high-end X2's in most games. :) All in all, I'd rather have an X2 (Core 2 duo actually ^^) but price/performance wise the pentium D's (especially the D805's) are (or were) great. :)

to bad you'd need a X2 to run at 5ghz to keep up with a pentium 2.13ghz :D

    what coolers u guys using?

I'm more than happy with my Artic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro. Quiet, cheap and does a good job at keeping my CPU cool. :)

and i guess the Version of Everest Home Edition does not support the Pentium D Presler

can you over clock with Everest?
