Hello everyone! Just got my new pc parts, installed everything, installed newest bios and drivers, booted up winXP and run 3DMark06. I got pretty low mark (around 4000) and at some tests (e.g. Canyon Fight test) i got framerates such as 1 (yes it sound rediculous i know...)

    My specs are:

    Intel Core Duo 2 @ 2.400 Mhz
    BFG 8800GTS
OCZ 8500 2GB(2x1GB) @ 2.1V, 1066Mhz (well i had to set the clock to 800Mhz or the sys would crash... any help there?)
ASUS Striker Extreme 680i (updated BIOS to newest version 7010 methinks)
    2xWD 320 GB
    Akasa 650W PSU
the rest doesnt really matter here does it..

I have played around with the BIOS settings, but I just cant get it right. I a question aswell: should the Linkboost, SLI Ready Memory and GPU EX features be enabled in the BIOS or not (note, im NOT using SLI)

I would be very greatfull if somebody could help me get those FPS up :)

What video card do you have? If i were you i'd set everthing to default (no overclocking) and see if your scores differ.

By the way, welcome to Guru3d;)

Turn off linkboost and sli memory and test that.

Do you have the bad transistor on your 8800GTS?

Try running your ram at 2.2v that might help.

Wow, yeah you really do have a problem.

Tried differeny drivers? ( completely uninstall your current ones before trying other ones ).

Let me know how that goes.

i tried uninstalling the 97.92 driver and installed the 97,44 one... still same... i noticed that it mostly has bad performace (1-2 FPS) on the red valley test of 3dmark (which is supposed to be a CPU test). Is there any chance that this is cpu related rather than GPU? its it ok to have all voltage settings on auto in the BIOS?

CPU = 0-2 FPS normally. That isn't your problem.

If you would, post your whole 3d scores. Maybe we can see something from that. Yes, you should be much higher than that to say the least. I do not know much about your MB and bios settings. I would look around some other forums to see if there are some explinations of others bios settings that you could mirror. It almost sounds like something isn't set right somewhere.

My sugges goes with yermucker. Try unistall audio and graphic drivers and try run Mark without audio drivers. Tell us what happend.
You need install graphic drevers again, but surely you get it you self.

    --CPU2 - Red Valley 1.031 fps
    Nothing to worry about

CPU score is fine, that's not the problem.

Are you sure you have all settings in the nvidia control panel set to default, ie no AA and AF?

Are you sure you have installed your motherboard (chipset) drivers?
