Just orderd a Radeon X1900GT asking a few Q

Again, a bit of misinformation there. The X1950 is nothing more than a die shrink and internal crossfire, while being designed with only 12 pipes from the off. It has faster clocks, but ramp up the X1900GT to the same speeds and there will be no difference in performance.

The X1900GT has 4 pipes locked, lower clocks, has a larger die and either software or external hardware crossfire.

 

My post was directed @ Konsole and his 7900GTO, I'm not sure what you're rambling about.

But it's also possible the first test run doesn't show you the score you're expecting,I had this with my card.I had a reasonable starting score,but after I made the proper settings and locked my monitor sync to 100hz I got over 1000 marks more in 3d05.Lucky for me I wasn't counting on breaking 10000 mark at first,or I would have been dissapointed.
So take your time,choose your drivers wise and happy benchmarking
