hello guys I m new to this tweaking for nvidia (i dont have tried tweaked drivers before.) I need recomeendation for the following specs: AMD 64 3200+ Nvidia 6600 GT DDR3 256 MB ASUS A8N mobo 1 GB DDR3 RAM I would like to have combination of more FPS and quality Also recommend performance only drivers. Thanks a bunch EnLi EDIT: what does iq and performance mean ?
performance means speed without being choppy, IQ is image quality. by the way, click on the user cp button(upper left corner of your screen) and edit your profile= fill in your specs there so you don't have to type them erytime someone asks. WELCOME TO GURU3D.
sorry, I'm trying to figure out the best ones for myself, and from reading several posts around here, since my card is a 6 series card I start with the old drivers made for that series then work my way up until I find ones that I like and work well for my system. you may want to go the oppsite route and start with the newest and go backwards. also check for the latest modified drivers in the download section the 97.20 or something to that affect has really good image quality for me and the speed is decent.
Hmm.. I could do that myself ..But i m having exams in next week so i need to concentrate more on the studies for now. Anyways i have downloaded nearly all the tweaked drivers (4-5 drivers i guess) found on the forum . now i m just waiting for some1 to guide me which driver is best for my needs. (so i can divert some time for my studies :look: ) Thanks EnLi
found this in a thread a couple down from yours Try NGO 91.47 here's the link http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=1514 try doing a search for 6600 GT in the drivers sections. several others have asked similar questions, that may speed up your progress. good luck.
Thanks .. I tried nvod 93.71 and got 4+ FPS in carbon .. .. Maybe u can point me to a good or near complete on tweaking nvidia Later EnLi EDIT : I dont have time right now for testing drivers.. Maybe somewhere in december ill do that
I'm not sure about the settings like anti aliasing and all that stuff, have you looked into overclocking? http://forums.guru3d.com/forumdisplay.php?f=11 check out the topics shaded in blue. also you could make a thread and point blankly ask what all the settings mean and be specific about what you're doing with the card (what games, movie editing and things like that.) sorry I can't be of much more help.
Overclocking sounds great ..I want to be at safer side .. results for my card after NGO 1.9371 NFS Carbon : +3 FPS NFS Underground : +20 FPS Frozen Throne : No change (i get 64 FPS) I think this driver is best for getting best performance .But i miss "motion after installing blur" in this driver (I dont know wat its called more precisely). I will install more drivers and let u know. It might help others having same card as me
you know I would just try the overclocking and run nTune. I found that it works alright. oh and please read up on overclocking just a little bit. Just because If you OverClock to far you'll Burn up your Video card. I've made that mistake and ended up with a card that flakes out when I play Highly demanding games like F.E.A.R. so install coolbits and let the system auto configure the settings. you'll be amazed at the results. In Half-Life 2 I went from 30-45 fps up to 60-120 fps. just give it a try...
