I looked in driver files earlier today and i noticed the same - seems like OpenGL is missing in this one. I'll stay out of this and wait for other driver.

Ok, uninstall the current drivers then update the driver, choosing the option to find the new driver by browsing to where the driver has been extracted

If that ain't in depth enough for ya, i'll do it step by step but hopefully that'll help

I've rolled back, this driver is only fit for Vista desktop, gaming is a bit slow, and like others, I got flickering after I quit HL2....

Thats probably because both cores are running with XP drivers, not because of any specific lack of optimisation.

I'm currently using the 96.85 beta drivers and they're not giving me too much trouble, occasional flicker on the desktop after exiting a game and 1/2 the normal performanc, also mising a lot of CP features.

These drivers allow gaming and I find run without problems. Using a 7950 GTX GX2 although as stated, the sli on the vid cards isn't working

Has anyone actually managed to get these drivers working on the 8800 yet ? I tried modding the drivers my self but all I get is a BSOD...

Can somebody tell me how to mod these drivers or post a pre-modded inf ?

....and some betas (not Vista admittedly) have a complete list of features. This one doesn't.

It doesn't hurt to share my findings before others download it hoping for overclocking, colour extensions etc.

...but please feel free to add more valuable posts like the one above.
Really, we don't know it's a beta, honest. :booty:

Ok so no one is running this with 8800GTX in Vista right? Because I don't want to be the only one that can't figure out how to make it work! Like the others the closest I get is they install but on a reboot I get BSOD.

Nope. I expected 279.71fps in all games at 1600x1200 resolution!

Lost Coast is not a "new generation" game; it's HL2 + HDR and a couple other details and runs fine on a GF6. I'm comparing performance to XP, and Vista performance should equal XP's at the very least, or no one will buy this lovely OS. Right now I'm seeing about 60% of the XP performance, which is not there. The number itself is irrelevant, it's the comparison that matters.

    K?

I'm finding the fans on my 7950 GTX G2 are on full all the time whereas in XP, it would only go to full power when in game. Anyone else notice this?

I had problems runing 3dmark06. The installation went good, up until the part where it "needs" to install dx9 web update.

oddly enough, trying to install the software the 2nd time, now it skipped the dx installation, only to discover later it had problems installing the OpenAL thingy.

THIRD installation of the software run without problems.
I wonder how the os knows how to skip certain things if it already run it before..

Yup, I call BS on these drivers supporting 8800, unless the original poster can provide a modded INF that works, that message should be updated to say these drivers DO NOT SUPPORT 8800 cards.

Best thing to do is just to sit tight and wait for real drivers witch CP, SLI-support and so on.
Would be nice if nVidia told us something, though, like an official statement about when the new drivers are scheduled to arrive.

7900GT here - solved NWN2 gfx glitches all over the place. Supreme Commander Beta still crashes before menu, though...
