    hi all :)

i bought this mobo b4 the cpu gfx card etc
but i dont get high scores on 3dmark
i cant remember the exact scores but they were atleast a 1000 or so lower then other ppls with the same rig

anyways can some1 tell me could it be me mobo thats limiting my cpu gfx card???

    specs on the left :)

    thx

I don't think that would account for 1000 less than the other scores of people with similar rigs.

what kind of psu do you have? your gfx card could be throttling because of insufficient power. generally no name psu's will do that.

by your specs, you haven't overclocked either, most people here overclock there rigs then post their scores.

how many amps are on your 12v rail? if its less than 20a then thats probably your problem. i would also try re installing windows or getting new drivers and cleaning old ones.

Post the specs of the psu, although i expect they arent too good if it was $17 for a 600w psu. That is possibly your problem... i don't think its drivers but i guess it cant hurt to get a fresh install of your drivers.

well your psu seems pretty good so thats probably not the problem, i would try updating ALL drivers and if that doesnt help reinstall windows. although you mobo isn't top of the line it shouldn't bottleneck your pc that much.

there are a few things that would knock your scores down

    1. having 1.5GB of ram doesnt help even if it is dual-channell it wont run at 1T which boost's 3dmark scores a fair bit

    2. the motherbaord is fairly poor isnt a great performer

3.card could be throttling due to poor powersupply , or card is too hot

    4. drivers , usually overlooked
what you get in 3damrk05 ??

Umm...When you built the system did you do a fresh install of windows? If not your probably having a chipset problem causeing lower scores.

Sounds like a driver problem to me, or the psu still could be the problem.

Or in fact it could not be a problem at all and it could just be your ram.

    1. i might try just the 1 gig of mem at ddr400 mode as when im using 1.5 gig i
can only run it at ddr266 mode :(
    2. thats what i was thinking it could be as i read somewhere on another forum about not getting max performance from the pci-e slot (could increasing the pci frequency help in any way in the bios ? )
    3. card seems cool enough it idels at 39-40 degrees and on full load ive seen it at 54 degrees i think these temps are ok?
    4. if i remember correctly i got round about 6800 in 3dmark o5
and im using the 92.91 forceware driver from guru3d

thx for the help m8 :)

check that the pci-express lot is running at full X16 speed , but using 1gig in dual-channell at 1T will see the biggest boost i think

I once considered the same motherboard you got and it seemed to be comparable in performance to other boards from DFI, ASUS, etc

how do i check if its running at x16 pci express speed?
because i go in the bios and it says about agp speeds but nothing on pci express ????

it says agp speed x4 when i have this pci-e card in the slot but nothing on the pci-e x16 setting ????
and i can only change the agp speed from 1x 2x 4x speeds when this pci-e card is in would lowering the agp speed in anyway help ?
but id love to know how to access this pci-e setting cause theres nothing in bios about it?

how do i get me mem into dual channel mode because ive taken out that 512 stick and just have the 1 gig stick in now but its saying that its still in single memory mode????
