Ijust received an X1950 Pro today for my new build. While looking around the net i just noticed the new 8800 GTX with rave reviews. My X1950Pro is still in ther box unopened. Is the improvement worth the extra cash ?

lol, oh should have said/update your profile. In that case..... I guess it's up to you. You could argue either way ;p. If you have the cash, though, go for it.

I really don't think you should get the 8800GTX, but if you have the cash, and you really want it, then go for it. :)

depends on what resolution you plan on running...anything under 1600x1200 it won't be worth the cash.

1950 pro is a pretty good card, its up to you to consider what you do, and how much justification you can give yourself to spend the extra money or to keep it.

The 8800s are insanely fast, but they are expensive. If you already got a good deal on the pro, I would wait for a little while and let the price come down OR let them come out with the second revisions of the 8 series (G81/G83?) like they did with the 7 series. Hopefully by then the prices will be down a little and Vista will be a little more mainstream (and actually released) so you'll see the benefits.

Thanks guys. I think i'm going to stay put for now. There's always new stuff coming out. I'm sure there's going to be something better by the time i get my tax refund.

    Lol.

I wonder if my processor would limit a 8800GTS. Not that I'm going to run out an buy one. I'm waiting for the 8600s.
