what anti virus have people got working with this one? i cant get AVG to install, Back to running Avast
oh no.. i'm too late to download this.. the download page is gone... anyone got a direct link? thanks
This might be bad news for us considering the fewer people that have RC2 the less likely good drivers will be released. EDIT deleted links on request
I'm thinking about taking the plunge into the x64 version for RC2, because Windows Update does not work for 5728(for me anyways), but I am not sure if I want to, since I am on the x86 version right now and the Creative drivers install perfect on it. I might as well do it since this is not my main OS, and it is just for fun. Can anyone vouch for the XP 64 Creative drivers working?
How can they even consider this a release candidate? The thing is just plain bug filled. I can't even get the stupid thing to install. It boots off the dvd at the beginning, then tells me it wants a driver for my dvdrom drive (which it just booted off of). Of course there is no such thing as a driver for my cdrom drive. I've read others who have had this problem also, but haven't read of any fix for it. My brother was able to get his installed, but can't access his routers admin page, no matter what browser he tries, yet he has internet access. Most all of his favorite programs don't run on it. Everyone appears to say that games run much slower on it. What incentive is there to fork over 100's of dollars to even run it? Microsoft is plain crazy if they think this thing is going to be popular.
Sounds like you have had nothing but trouble with Vista. I personally have had a good time with it and I think it will be very good when it is released. I am betting games will be faster or just as fast when the drivers are finally optimized.

Thank you for the proper grammiatical usage of the words "less" and "fewer" ...one of my pet peeves - EX: "He had less problems with it":knock: Now; I'd be willing to bet that most people don't see anything wrong with that sentence...'nuf said. BTW: are you Canadian - just curious?
Yup! They're all gone. I downloaded the X64, but after a couple of failed downloads (with the stupid Windows download manager) of X86, I discovered the file was nowhere to be seen!
So far... So good for me. loading sound drivers now, and will try out some games... Edit: Audigy 4 drivers work like a charm!
