I was shattered when I heard the news. I had met him once down in Australia Park Zoo back before he went international. I can't imagine the impact this will have on his faimly as father's day was just yesterday. RIP Steve, may there be many more like you.
Now his kids arent gona grow up with a daddy........ sad sad sad I just saw this its on the front of yahoo www.yahoo.com
IMO also he was a pest but he had alot of good in him which made him less of a pest. He was cool though R.I.P steve
Sux that the guy died and all.... But now that his gone can all you bloody yanks / poms / asians / etc etc etc stop thinkin that us Aussies are all wankers who go around handling dangerous animals going "Crikey... shes beauuutiful". Yeah, I never liked the guy... still - I feel sorry for his family and all. btw - AFAIK there have only ever been TWO reported deaths attributed to stingrays in Australia - what was he doing to it to make it sting him!
That sux so badly! He made some fantastic documentaries and good television. Well I hope they'll show all of his documentaries on national geographics as tribute or something though. Well R.I.P. Steve, may you have plenty of crocs and other dangerous animals to wrestle in the afterlife.
Sting rays don't normally go on the offensive, they rather swim away so I'm possitive he got to close to one of those stings while filming....he's known to get to close to animals so it was bound to happen.
Dude you need to take a chill pill...we dont think ALL australians do what steve did....wow wtf seriously. Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed or its just that time of month... There is nothing wrong with trying to preserve nature..there isnt many brave enough to do it..
LOL! That's right NM+. But seriously, how can Aussies worry about something like image? You guys travel the whole damn world and every place you can go you can find an Aussie with a backpack somewhere around. You guys spread your image around the globe
Not to mention, that these guys are the reason why you can walk into a bar in the US with your accent and get some from the hottest girl in the house. /I farking hate you all.
LOL! Nice picture. To all of you concerned he never harmed animals, he was there to protect and preserve.
Damn, I dunno what to say this really is a shocker, Steve Irwin was an interesting fellow who knew his stuff, even if he did get a little close to even the most dangerous animals.
Yeah RIP, it was really good watching his program on TV, my sister woke me up about an hour ago to tell me. Symathys for the family, he will be missed.
This is the first thing I saw when I turned on the news this morning. So sad! The countless hours I've spent on watching his wild adventures on Animal Planet. Ah
