my mouse cursor keeps freezing, well i've had my new pc for 2 weeks

i've been using my pc a lot lately, and the cursor froze on me about 10 times last night, and it's getting annoying

pretty much my cursor gets stuck on the screen, and i can still manage to control my applications using keyboard, but my cursor freezes, and it moves while being invisiable

and only way to get it to work again would be restarting
btw i did try a different mouse, and it froze on me in 4 mins
how can i fix this issue?
    drivers? bad mouse plug?

    here are my specs
    AMD Athlon 64 3700+ Motherboard
    Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe 939
    XFX GeForce 6800 XT
    OCZ PC3200 1GB
    250GB SATA2
    OCZ ModStream 450W
    WIN XP
    MX518 <mouse

    Is it PS2 or USB?

the mouse is mx518 using ps/2 (the green round plug)

but it's not the mouse, i am sure it's the driver issue...

Well, any ps/2 mouse should function just fine without the driver. I would suggest that you just uninstall the driver and use whatever functionality windows allows.

try to increse the sample input and the buffer input.
you do that by doing the following

    my computer==> propeties==>hardware tab==>device manegement==>mouse propeties.
the tab advanced manegement and increse the settings.

i'm sorry for my horrible english
