I just dropped a second by tightening the timings. I'm waiting to post a new time until drop a few more seconds at least. Who knew that I could run this ram at 3-3-3-4. do you realise how difficult it is to remove scores? ive had to do it for one member on my home forum. it took me a day, just to remove his scores. its far easyer to remove them your self. just log into hwbot.org and delete your scores. but also edit all of your posts in this forum, else they will reapear.
ncc-1709... Hi, sorry for the bother, but i saw your specs and i want to ask you a question, i have the same dfi board as yours, but with a 3700+ (Sandy) overclocked to 2.9Ghz and idle'ing at 38'C. Thing is i cant for the life of me get my ram to boot with 1T. i am running 2 x 512 Kingston Pc3200 CL3 @ 194 (133) mhz at timmings 2.5-3-3-7-8-2T My current 1M superpi is 31.88 Would getting better ram solve this or not realy...?
Better ram would help you, but you might also try increasing the vdimm slightly to see if that helps. You might also have some other timings set to where it can't boot at 1T. Something else you could do is get the A64 memtweaker program and play around with timings in windows to see what you can get to from there.
here is a screen shot of my timing and so on [img=http://img332.imageshack.us/img332/8245/untitled2mj.th.jpg]
firstly get rid of the slew. its pointless. secondly. your ram should be rated better than that. most decent ddr ram comes at 3200 @ 2-2-2-5 (200mhz) so yours is really slow, compaired to most rams. basically, get your ram to run above 200mhz, and T1 should work a bit better. try using a64tweeker or a64info to change to T1. or flash to the 704-bta bios. this helped a lot of people get better overclocks due to using less voltage to acheve the same stable speeds. you could allways buy my ram. (im serious, its for sale) and, ps. if you check my 1mill time, it was done on a 3700 sandy.
slew..? Also, where are you from and what is the spec and price on you ram..? I have tried everything, but if I tighten the timings or set it to 1T with a64 tweaker, i get bsod or pc freeze. I found a 702 bios but not a 704...also there are 3 versions -1 -2 -3, which one should I use
not the official bios. the bta's , most forums have a link some where, but i carnt seem to find it atm. my ram is, Corsair XMS XL pro rev 1.2 TCCD (hand picked) 3200. it does 270+ on 2-3-3-5 timings at 3.3v+. at the time being, im looking for £95, which i will include the shipping for that price. are you setting any of the settings in the bios?

I'm sure I can get this chip up a tad higher and still bench with it. I haven't gotten 4.1ghz stable yet though, and with only air cooling I can't really put alot of volts through it without it Really heating up the room. I figure I'll try 4.15 and see what I can do. Now what'd be scary is if I beat the time from my core duo with this.
prescott @ 4.0ghz and 1.5v with only air cooling ?! ... woah where do you live ??? mine at 1.435v 3.7 (when i was on air) heated to 70c+ triggering the motherboard probe alarms
