loop29: well.... it's not entirely that hard to notice if your hardware isn't getting enough power. it usually doesn't take long to die.... and when it does..... what would you actually be thinking? "Oh, i guess my power supply was feeding my video card too much power?"? no. you're just using more power than the power supply can dish out, and in that circumstance, either a piece of hardware dies, or a piece of hardware AND your PSU dies. i think it's a lot more rare an occurence for a piece of brand new hardware to die with no outlying cause within days, than it is for a power supply to not be giving it enough power.
How do i know that??? read my post. Its not senses its equipment....voltages etc....think before you post.

I find it very hard to belive thatthey just both blew.Thats inpossible.And furthermore a shop owner installing 2 $1000cardsjust for you to try, come on,! who is going to take 2 new cards out of their boxes just for you to try. He wouldn't be able to sell them as new,and if he did,Then he's one shop owner to stay away from big time,!!!
My two cents: if you own a 7800 series it's not worth upgrading to 7900 because the differences between the 2 are relatively minor, nowhere near the difference between 6800 series and 7800. The only exception is for those who have a 7800 GS and want to upgrade to PCIe based system.
As I said, he is a friend.....and I was about to pay for these cards. I am 40 yrs old.....way beyond lying or trying to impress anyone. I was just sharing an experience I had. I found myself lucky enough to have tried them before the transaction was made.....that's all I was tryng to say. Why are so many people so defensive on here? Sorry if I offended anyone in anyway. Put Words in your mouth Dude I didnt put anything in your mouth and you seem to be the defensive one here. All I said was that your experience is not a complete picture and that if you were to go further with your findings, that it would not be the whole world that is wrong and that at best yours was a isolated and probly easy to explain and very unfortunate accident. I am only trying to give you info from a person who owns both cards and let the rest of the community know that your post has alot of holes in it.
