Single Player FPS recommendations?

'morning,

OK then, I'm fast running out of ideas for absorbing FPS games to play and I need some recommendations. Here's a list of all the games I've played recently (and thoroughly enjoyed), you can work out from these what sort of games I enjoy.

Half-Life source
Half-Life 2
Half-Life Episode One
F.E.A.R
Far Cry
Doom 3 (and resurrection of evil)
Quake 4
Return to Castle Wolfenstein

Any others I could try?

 

Call of Duty 2 maybe? Very good game that.

Also, Prey is out soon and that looks fantastic. There is a demo released weds/thurs this week depending on where in the world u live!

 

Cod 2 singleplayer is great but the multiplayer feels like quake 3 with smaller maps :|

 

Max Payne 2, its a few years old but the texture quality is great still and the game overall is a masterpiece.

Want to play good FPS games?

A good FPS is Chronicle of Riddick: Butcher Bay. I don't like the movie, but I like the game very much!! The game emphasis on hand combat - you can steal weapons from guards, you can reverse the gun which is still in the hands of the guard and shoot him and other counterattacks. Of course there are guns for you too! Some elements of the game is like Deus Ex. The graphics is quite good too. Don't forget it was a XBOX game. The PC version have higher textures and of course you can play the game in higher resolutions. furthermore, In the pc version you can use pixelshader 2 and up, so the graphical effects like bumpmapping and normal maps look even better!

Another okay FPS game is Halo for the pc. It is pretty a straight forward FPS game, but there are several weapons you have never seen in a FPS.

The first Deus Ex is also an excellent FPS game, where you can evolve your character! It looks dated now, but it still a very enjoyable game.

Other okay FPS games are Call of Duty 1 & 2, Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault and Brother in Arms. They are WWII shooters.

A mindless FPS is Serious Sam: First Encounter and Second Encouter. While the serious sam game is old, but it still looks pretty (to some extent).

Another good FPS game is Painkiller. There are nice weapons in the game. And the game looks pretty good! With Havoc physics!

A semi FPS is the Hitman no.47 serie, because you can switch the view between first person and third person. You can be a silent assassin or not, of course. The newest is Hitman: Blood Money with very nice graphics!

Hitman. I haven't played Hitman:Bloodmoney yet, but I hear it is EXCELLENT.

 

Yeah I give Hitman Bloodmoney my vote too. Don't have it myself, but I've only heard good things about it, so you might as well give it a go. Also, as horse already said, Max Payne 2 is an excellent action packed game.

 

Call of Duty 2 is good!

 

Hitman Blood money for new one and IronStorm for old ones =D

 

I liked Enter the Matrix, as well. Old, but good. I think there might be a great opposition to this...

Note: NOT Path of Neo, but Enter the Matrix!

 

If you haven't played deus ex then you really should! brilliant game, and the mp add-on is a laugh too

 

Enter the Matrix was ok, had it on the xbox. Nothing spectacular, but ok nevertheless. I still recommend Max Payne 2 and Hitman.

 

Yeah, opposition is right. Worst game ever made since Diakatana. Avoid Matrix games at all cost.

 

I am still playing Hitman:blood money this game is absolutely fantastic and there are many possibilities to complete one level. One more thing for this game is dat i used to get bored of computer games at first and only xould play them for about 1 hr. if not more and i played this game straight 6hrs. at first(currently playing with guide and will play it on my own in thye second run)::::HIGLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!!!!!

 

i just downloaded hitman blood money demo and IT IS awesome
the graphics are very god and i never got bored
there was always someone to kill and
its easy to understand

Oh hell yes.

 

For something a little slower and thoughtful try Hidden and Dangerous 2 can be played as a tactical squad game or solo mode FPS...patch it up before playing though...

No One Lives Forever 2 also worth a look - can be had very cheap.

 

If you want a sneak'n'peek for a change from the run'n'gun, check out Ghost Recon Advance Warfighter. Very good tactical fps.
