The latest Directx9.0c (June 2006) improves performance of game play?

    Dude..i downloaded all 55MB and installed it..it took like 20 secs ...is that's all their is to it? 55MB was just installed in 20 secs and that's all? I was expecting something flashy..maybe a restart or atleast some spectacular..i just extracted the files to a desktop folder then double clicked the installer and it just did 20 secs of installing...


    That's all tho?

    This seems to do some magic .... what i did notice is a smoother gameplay ... maybe a few fps here or there ... not much to talk about though ...

    Sounds sweet! I'm gonna try them with my X850XT soon. Pretty much all my games are perfect except for CSS which has this weird stutter. Will report back soon.

    games seem to play as they did before , all my cod2 timedemos are exactly the same too , still , nice to have an update or 2 , keeps us on our toes ;)

    when people talk about I.Q in new drivers, i believe that to be placebo effect as well just as i do with this...oblivion still stutters during heavy loading so wtf difference does it matter

    You don't have to do that, Directx can't be uninstalled (unless you mess around on the registry) so it'll just update it.
