Probably the highest scores this old XP will ever get...All of them on Air no major Vmods just socket wire mod for 1.85V for the mobile Barton chip and pencil mod for the Gainward GS+, Really like the full 24 piped G71 core for AGP, very pleased to not have to go thru loading up a new system ...

Are these decent scores for an old XP-32bit AGP system? Please post other scores as well....

    System:
    XP-2600-Mobile @ 2.7Ghz A7N8X ver 1.04 Corsair XMS CL2 @ 2-2-2-5
    Gainward 7800 Bliss GS+ 512mb @ 570/1450

    3DMark06 @ 1280x1024 =4700

    3DMark03 @ 1024x768 =18443

    3DMark01 @ 1024x768 =25008

Wow, those are some awesome scores... Your processor is overclocked to 2.7 ghz though, and i'm sure that Helps a ton! but I think the setup you have is perfect, the benchmarks tell all!

PS. thats a great overclock for air...

Can you do a 3DMark06 Project Comparison ?

You ram is it running 2T as 1t is faster ?

    XP @2700= a P4 3.2 I think

    Display Properties:
    AA Set>App-con
    AF FIL>APP- con
    Image set>High perf
    AF mip fil> ON
    AF sample >ON
    Try them settings

I duno, XP-3200-Barton was 2.19, Sandra gives the 2.7 a PR 3800, I would say = a P4 3.4 or more but I think more scores will tell the tail...

I'm going to try some of the 9x.xx drivers, Can I still use Rivatuner to O/C the card or will I have to wait for a newer version?

    Anyone with more bench scores?

Yeah, a barton mobile @ 2.7 GHz definately performs better than a 3.2 GHz P4 in gaming. The athlon xp cpu's are older technology but the barton core still runs on a 400MHz FSB with a 512 L2 cache which combined with a fast clock speed, can still provide decent performance in newer games.

Extremely nice scores for an agp rig there Player1. :nerd:

    Thanks,

I hope others will post scores...

would be effective to see a good baseline old XP AGP type system that is at its extreme fastest used for comparison with other hardware, a good O/C on air is very easy on these mobile chips and there never was anything published to show how good except in a few forums, everyone was drooling over 64bit...including me, perhaps in a 18 months...

4100 is about right for a gs+ and a 3ghz p4 cpu. Your cpu is holding it back. I'd suggest overclocking perhaps to 3.2ghz, maybe more, but unless you have a very very capable heatsink it might not be worth it since the prescotts run very hot at stock never mind overclocked.

I'm constantly amazed at how i can get over 4600 in 3dmark06, more than yourself, including a marginally higher cpu score than yourself, yet can't break 8000 in 3dmark05. That program just doesn't like my system.
