No, not a mountain bike. I just bought it today from a private seller for $2,000. Don't make fun of me, it's my first bike. The last time I rode anything was 125cc dirt bikes a couple years ago, so I didn't go with the Yamaha R6 . I went with the Kawasaki Ninja 250 (2004 with 600 original miles on it). Here's a couple pics of it.
I heard 110, but I got this for commute to work, school, gf's. I doubt I'll ever go over 80. (edit: it doesn't have crazy speed but apparently it's roughly as fast as this from 0-60) Good enough for me...
I had a ninja 500 as my first motorcycle. It was a goog bike, but it leads you to want a faster one uventully.. I agree they are death traps ^^ atleast here in Tampa thats why I swiched to the good ol' mountain bike. foot power ftw. Of course I did it more to stay into shape than to have a 2 wheel vehicle. have fun, and be safe.
Yeah, I'm in a pretty rural area with lots of back roads I can take. The farthest I will have to go is 25 minutes to my gf's. I would normally take the highway the entire way, but with this, I will be getting off the highway across the river(not much I can do about this) and taking low traffic roads the other 20 miles. I'm a safe driver, I'll be fine. I appreciate the notes of safety though, everyone else is like "sell it after a week and get an R6".
Honestly man be careful. I've been riding those for a while, and 4 wheel drivers are just plain dumbasses when it comes to driving around a motorcycle. I wouldn't worry about you wrecking the bike, I'd worry about someone else hitting you. My family all works in the med center (optemetrists, RNs etc...) and the scrubs there call young guys with motorcycles "organ donors". And thats not a joke.
I didn't renew my motorcycle license after I saw a young woman literally fly to her death on the expressway one day when I was driving my work truck. Ride safe man..:bolt:
