    Hello!
Currently i have 6600GT PCI-E in my PC, and since I have one extra PCI-E slot I was wondering if I could install another card so I can have 3 monitor setup along with TV(out). I'm thinking about Ati X300 card, I can buy second hand very cheap. So, I wonder what would happen if I would install ATi & nVidia cards at the same time? Would they work together? What about drivers (Forceware & Catalyst)? Anyone tried such setup? Motherboard I use is Asus P5WD2 and second PCI-E slot declares as 4x max! Thanks

P.S. ignore my sys specs because I'm posting this for a friend.

    TIA

You probably will have a driver nightmare :(

I would recommend installing a second nvidia card to avoid the trouble.

That won't work, he wants the extra card to feed a third monitor.

AsHopeDies, one can usually make such a setup work but most of the time it causes the fastest of the two cards to run at the same speed as the slowest.

I'm not 100% sure you can make it work on the PCIe slots though, when I tried it it was on an AGP based system. I used one AGP card and one PCI card.
