Does the 7900 pen mod work or not?

I know I might get flamed for this, and i dont care

Does the mod mod that was floating around ( the "easy" one done with circuit pen to 1.4v and 1.5v ) work?

I ask casue it was alllll the rave when it first came out, now everyone says you need to remove some stuff to bypass a protection.

It went from a easy mod to a fairly involved mod that will viod my warrenty.

I think its a fair question

I did the 1.4 volt mod with a rear window defroster repair kit. So i would assume it would work the same with the pen.

 

Yeah it works. I did it and no problems

 

And a follow up question, I'm getting 2 x 7900gt KO SC's next week.
Anyone know if this matters at all?
They just released them so i doubt many peps will have their hands on them.

yes

it works if you can follow directions without making mistakes. just be careful and apply to proper connections, just make sure you use a consistant write.
