I tried renaming the Oblivian exe to AFR-FriendlyD3D.exe and noticed my fps ( using fraps ) almost doubled from 30fps to 59fps!

I have a crossfire setup with two x1900's. Only problem is the major shimmering effect it has on the system. With and without HDR using resolution settings of 1900x1200 for my Dell 2405 lcd screen.

Just wondering if anyone has tried this at all and had success?

    Using 6.3 drivers.

Just got my xfire rig setup, so i will be giving this ago. Also, u realise that the new Cat 6.4's have better xfire support for oblivion?

I'll need to try that one, doubt it'll make much of a difference on mines, 30-50fps is good for me anyway.

30fps...not way with this investment...40-50 is more what I'm looking for.:). I'll try the 6.4 drivers

I'm a bit nervous about getting a X1900 if you only get 30fps in Oblivion. What settings do you have and what resolution?

He said 1900x1200 with HDR, I can only guess everything else is full.

Well then 30 is not overly bad considering those settings. I wont run that high of res so when I get a X1900XT Oblivion should run good. I hope.

(Sorry I forgot he did mention what res he was using. )

I get 50's to 70's on indoor areas and 30s... something a little lower in grassy areas outdoors.

I am running it @ 1600x1200 with the settings cranked up very high... HDR, not AA though. I have not used both because I have my CCC set to let the applications decide the level of AA, etc. Maybe I should set CCC to handle all that.

oblivion takes a lot of power to run AA because of all the grass blades to render. I prefer to run at highest possible res instead of AA, but i guess i don't have 1900XTX either. I heard tha xfire or SLI didn't even work with oblivion, so one of the cards was not even used. or did they patch it already? I guess I've been too busy with school to look

Yeah it works with Oblivion now... FiringSquad did an original review and then were contacted about how to fix the issue so they updated their benchmarks for Xfire, the differences from before and after were pretty big once they got it working, it was better than the 7900GTX's in SLI in every high-resolution test if I recall... I may recall incorrectly though LOL

ATI owns NV when it comes to ObliviOn.

Has anyone else tried it, or is it an x-fire only type thing?

I am in the process of rebuilding my pc(upgrading to the FX-57, the PSU and a new case), but with Crossfire enabled and an AMD 4400X2, i was getting ~70fps outdoors @ 1680x1050.
