For those who don't know, If you still want to use the Control Panel version of these drivers instead of the CCC version Go to ATI : ATI Customer Care > Drivers and Software > Windows XP > FireMV > FireMV 2400 PCI >driver you want
These are the same as the radeon drivers with the CP. The last driver package for radeon that came with CP on ATI's site was 5.11. Comparing the size and name of the Radeon and FireMV drivers are the same with the 5.11's and all previous drivers.

    Radeon driver 5.11: 5-11_xp-2k_dd_cp_wdm_27345 25.8 mb
    FireMV driver 5.11 :5-11_xp-2k_dd_cp_wdm_27345 25.8 mb

    OR

Just use the latest driver only package by itself or the whole driver package including the CCC but don't install CCC (this would be best). then use a program like Ati Tray Tools to adjust all your settings.

    OR

You could use some modified drivers that come with CP. but some of these don't come with WDM. but the WDM drivers can be dowloaded from ATI.

P.S. the 6.4's aren't out yet for Fire MV

P.S. P.S. all this info has been known for some time by many users so it's not "just my Idea"

    W00t my thread stickied

    :( my post changed :(

  5. well, after installing these "overclocker.exe" no longer lets you set your 3D clocks.....so you have to disable 2D/3D clock switching all the time if you want to OC this card......

the allure of 1.4% extra on HL2 has drawn me in lol..

no mention on the notes of X1800 crosfire support with no master card tho

  7. Umm....make that, you cannot use "overclocker.exe" at all! You cannot set 2D clocks or the 3D clocks! OK, 6.3 it is for me untill we can get ATT or Riva Tuner for some decent OC'ing, I can't live with CCC's pathetic 690/1600 when I know my card can do 802/1860.......OVERCLOCKERS BEWARE.......

ATI DEMO - ToyShop (default settings)
    Catalyst 6.3
    Time: 60000ms - Avg: 17.950 - Min: 11 - Max: 21
    Catalyst 6.4
    Time: 60000ms - Avg: 18.000 - Min: 11 - Max: 23

Battlefield 2 custom demo - 1.22 (my own settings :p)
    Catalyst 6.3
    Time: 60000ms - Avg: 74.533 - Min: 61 - Max: 86
    Catalyst 6.4
    Time: 60000ms - Avg: 74.783 - Min: 62 - Max: 86

it gives small tiny tiny performance boost with my system, may not even be because of drivers. But what they do is that they change bf2 shadows to crappiest ever seen for my system - :), before it was small zigzag shadows, now its BIG zigzag shadows :p. Dont have comparison for before tho :/.

Yeah, I'm seeing a screen of blue corruption for a few secs after the Windows loading bar has finished on the way to the desktop. I didn't notice it before as I didn't watch it reboot.

Apart from that though these seem fine, and GT Legends seems to run much better. Considering that's the only game I play at the moment I'll be keeping these.

The corruption thing doesn't really bother me as I don't reboot that often and games all run fine. I'm also not concerned about OCing this thing for the time being.

GAH! ATi WTF have you done!?!

MS FS 2004 crashes at anything more than 630/740, 5 mhz over stock! :(

Everything else, BF2 etc is fine :/
