Omegadrive has released a new version of his popular modified driver. These drivers are based on ATI's latest catalyst drivers and they include a customized version of ATI Tray Tools instead of Radlinker. These drivers offer excellent performance versus great image quality and are known by their great reputation. These are "optimized" drivers for the ATI Radeon family. What's New in Omega Drivers version 3.8.231 Based on the Catalyst 6.3 Official drivers. Added a new wide-screen resolution, 1024x640. Known Issues: Some of the settings for both D3D & OGL will not be synchronized between ATT and the normal ATI CP, you must only use one of them to make changes, the best option is to use ATT since the ATI CP does not support changes to AI and in order to use the advanced D3D/OGL features. Changes made in ATT will work on games and such but the changes will not be reflected in the normal ATI CP since ATI stores the registry values that the CP reads separate from the actual values in the registry. Important Info: Since these drivers include a non-standard version of ATT, I would recommend that if you have any previous version of ATT installed, please uninstall it before installing these drivers, not doing so may cause unknown problems. Downloading them now. I'll post something when I have time to install them and test something. I have AOE3, BF2, CS:S and GTA:SA to test this driver. EDIT: Ok... here are my results: AOE3: Everything's A LOT more fluid than before. Specially the water scenes, damn that shader makes my 9600XT slow to 20 fps. With this new driver, it goes to about 30 FPS, the overall minimum FPS goes to 30-35 (on high settings, other things like shadows etc are on low, those are FPS killers) from 25 with the 6.2 driver. CS:S: Same as above. Everything's much more fluid, less FPS spikes. BF2: This driver made wonders. On mostly low settings, the game is MUCH more playable on this rig. All those improvements on an older card like the 9600XT. I recommend it.
nope! it gave me very good image quality than ever.oblivion still runs smooth buyt also sharper images but...3dmark 06 dropped from 1791 to 1772 soo much
Modded drivers are made to give worse scores in benchmarks (but better results in games). "The drivers contain optimizations, extra features (like OC capabilities), more resolutions and internal tweaks that can give them the edge in a gaming environment over the normal drivers, which are often tailored for synthetic benchmarks." -- omegadrive [emphasis added]
Holy **** !!! bro thanks no much! Im getting muuuuuch much better frames per second now! holy crap and the graphics look better with same settings too! this is all in oblivion too btw yup! Good bye 5.12 HELLO OMEGA! Later
Do the Omegas retain the HDTV options that the standard 6.3's have? (Upscaling, Avivo etc.) If so, then I'll be very excited to try these drivers out.
i reinstaled it.and my eyes dont midtake.thie IQ is better than 6.3 and performance also runs smooth as always.maype 1 fps increase in oblivion
Anybody compared these against NGO's? I installed NGO's but i'm really not happy with them, i.e. fps's in BF2 dropped from 70-90 to 35-65. And AA seems to be almost inoperative. So is Omega better than them. Do you mean that i should uninstall my ATT(1.05.824) before i install these?
