Should I buy a HiS x1900xtx Refurbished for $471, or should I buy a PNY Geforce 7900GTX Retail for $478 and why?
Just go with whatever brand you like more. There is no real performance difference between the 2. My brother has the 7900GTX, and our scores arel almost the same as are our fps in games. Both are great and neither will let you down.
If you can get 2x 7900GT's for less money, you get a good deal more performance than one of those cards
2 of those cards= $123 more.. and craptacularone.. I cant decide myself.. so I need good reasons from other people to help me decide from the two. :\
Well, from my expirence. Well my brothers that is. Stay away from refurbs. Odds are they were sent back for a pretty good reason (I know I know they get fixed and resold, but still). How ever I recently replaced my XFX 7800GTX (256) with a ATI version 1900XTX and man it is insaine. I like both companies and all I can say is ATI out did them selves with this card.
Well both Nvidia and ATI are going to get in on this since Agiea is going to be selling their card soon. I couldnt tell yah at this point cause I dont know of any tests to run to try it out. However I can say that I can run BF2 with my current signature/proflie at 1792 X 1344 100 draw distance, all settings on high with 4Xaa on, and sound set to X-FI enabled and ultra quality, and never drop below 50 FPS which in my opinion is pretty sick.
My vote is for the xtx. The ati cards really do have slightly better image quality, and better shader performance. Shader performance is becoming more and more important.
Here Here. I can vouch for the IQ statement as I had a 7800GTX. Between the 7800GTX and the XTX the IQ is like night and day ATI really out does Nvidia there. I dont know if the IQ has improved on the 7900 series though.
Alright then, what I am thinking is this: http://www.newegg.com/product/Produ...1900XT+512MB+GDDR3+PCI+Express+x16+Video+Card And flash to XTX and somevoltage to GPU/MEM via ATITool , and be happy. How does that sound?
Sounds like a plan to me Be curious how it turns out fa sho May want to just leave it a xt. Pretty sure it will run fine stock.
Never go with a refurb over retail. It's not worth the risk. Depending on where you buy from, most refurbs don't even have any warranty and are just more likely to have something go wrong with them. Don't rush to buy as I'm sure you can find a good deal somewhere.
both cards own hard and do pretty much the same when you put them up against each other but im an Nvidia fan so ill say get the 7900GTX =P
