lets see how my Geforce 4 Ti 4200 128MB deals with F.E.A.R max settings, standard clock 250/550 (custom air cooling) min settings, standard clock 250/550 (custom air cooling) max settings, overclocked 295/595 (custom air cooling) min settings, overclocked 295/595 (custom air cooling)
I can tell you exactly why. Without going into detail just make sure that SoftShadows are disabled. When you run AA with SoftShadows it'll do AA but not SoftShadows. When you turn AA off it'll do SoftShadows which is much more intensive than AA.
A new score for me ...... ...... Everything maxed .... running at 1280*768 , 2x aa , 16x af ,,, maxed with soft shadows enabled .. .....
If you're running AA then SoftShadows are automatically disabled, even though it doesn't look like it. You have to take the AA off to run with SoftShadows.
Maximum settings on everything except soft shadows, Anisotropic Filtering at 8x but Anti-Alias at 4x. Very playable at 50 FPS average methinks. At 1280x960 of course.
I wanna see some 7900 GTX`s in SLI !!! or x1900XTX !! just to see the difference between them... come on ppl
hehehehe ) thats on 1024x768 everything maxed out. 6800 GS AGP actually the only time it was on 13 was the start, and then it was averaging around 30-60 fps which was quite surprising
