I've got an eVGA GeForce 7800GT, running Forceware 83.90. While playing World of Warcraft, I'd like to be able to alt-tab during raid downtime and watch videos using Media Player Classic. Unfortunately, the videos load and play, but I only get audio, no video. The same videos work perfectly when I'm not in the game. This issue is the same no matter what driver version I try. Any ideas or suggestions?
Maybe try another player? DivX, or something else... Its a strange problem, almost like WoW is getting priority.
I was thinking he was trying to run it on a seperate screen while playing WoW. To do that, you need a second video card. I re-read what he said and realized I was completely off.
WOW might be reserving the overlay, try setting videos to use only the primary layer instead of the full overlay (this is in the CP somewhere, you might need coolbits if it isn't there).
I've noticed this too. I used to have a 9800pro and I was able to alt+tab out of World of Warcraft and play videos also. I also noticed this happens with F.E.A.R. These are the only two games I've tried as well. Now with my 7800GT with 84.20, I can't anymore. Let me know if you figure anything out.
