    better for all gaming i'd say, providing theres an equal rise in the upload!

    Do you mean power line cable? If so, I read that Georgia Power is supposed to provide this some time next year to some parts of the Atlanta area.
    Who needs a cable or dsl line just plug into a wall plug and go!.

    Edit: the story was in the local paper it will actually be done by one of our local EMC (electrical membership co_operatives) and will start in Symrna, Mableton Ga. areas.
    This thing is cabable of 200 MBS down loads at this time

    100mb....that would be damn fast, especially if it were to be mirrored (100 up/100 down...) :puke2:

    LOL that was my reaction when I first heard of this 4 years ago!
    So now here it comes I can't scan the article I read for you but here is a little info on it to get the juices flowing. It may wipe out other form on internet access completely in the near distant future and cause many others to reduce price or increase speed.
    Yep just plug "IT" in. Whatever IT is or will be....

    I highly doubt advancements in powerline cable will wipe out other broadband services. Fiber is where we are going.

    Our campus gets a NLR connection in March, can your connection beat 10gbps? Just think you could upload 250gigs in ... 25 seconds? Dear god. Now if only I can convince supercomputing that I need the connection....

    gbps = giga bits per second

    250gig = 250gB, which is gigabytes

    minor point....but nice connection anyway, now if only you had a 10gbps ethernet card....

    Meh, I'll stick with ADSL for now... 12-20 ping to my favorite UT servers, 600+ kbyte/sec downloads... what the hell do I need more for?
